Smoky Mountain Country Club

The front nine was cart path only due to a lot of rain. I would give the whole corse a 5 if the front 9 was not so wet. Challenging layout, with many views to take your mind off any bad shots you may make. I am planning to make another trip in the spring.

Well maintained course in Smokey Mountains.

Par 71 with many ups and downs. If you have fear of heights or vertigo don’t play this course! But if you love true panoramic views and an interesting layout this is for you.

This isn’t really a review of the course, but I couldn’t find anywhere to complain to GolfNow directly. The course is fine, played there before and it was peachy. Good mountain golf course. However, you might wanna check with the course before booking with GolfNow. Booked a round today, only to be called and told that there was no availability due to lack of carts, but GolfNow still had a Hot Deal on it. Then I wasn’t able to cancel the round or get a refund since the course wasn’t playable. The guys at the course said they had had this problem before, and honestly I’m not surprised. This is a 4 star review because the course notified me of the issue and apologized for the inconvenience, the rating goes to the course. Smokey Mtn. CC - 4.5 Stars; GolfNow - 0 Stars.

Smoky Mountain CC is honestly a hidden gem. I’ve played a lot of golf here, shot good scores and bad....as a lower handicapper (6.8), the course offers challenging tee shots that require placement, solid greens that require good putting, and oB everywhere! However, is short enough that the high handicapper can still go out and enjoy a round with his/her friends and family!

Great day on the course. Not very busy and their membership drive is intriguing. My only criticism is the ground on many of the tee boxes is rock hard. You can't get a tee in the ground. Especially a plastic one. How about watering to soften it up. Maybe some new sod to solve a couple of other problems on those tee boxes. Always a fun course to play.

Good course with a lot of tricky holes. The first time you play it it’s seems difficult. After a few times it grows on you bc it is such a unique track. One must hit the fairway to play well.

This is one of my wife's favorite courses and where she wanted to spend some of her special day. Beautiful day and not very busy when we started at 1pm. Was pretty busy by the time we finished 3 hours later.

Overall the fairways and greens were in pretty good shape. The tee boxes need some work, especially with all the rain they've had. Numerous bare spots and not very level surfaces.

For what they charge to play here, there is no excuse for this. Throw some grass seed down or lay down some sod.

Other than that, it is a fun course to play. Definitely worth the drive from Asheville.

This course has a cool layout and some big elevation changing holes. With that said the course it’s self is a train wreck. Go somewhere else

A little wet due to recent torrential rains but still very playable. Lots of elevation changes. 5th hole is a blast. Big downhill with a 200 ft cliff 150 yards from the green.

Beautiful course and a great layout. Being from south Louisiana, I don’t often get a chance to play a

course with this much elevation changes. It was challenging and a great experience. Looking forward to playing again in the future. Greens were a little bumpy from a recent aeration, but that’s to be expected this time of year. Great staff!

Although I played well, the course layout for me was not enjoyable. Just because one can build a golf course in a difficult location doesn't mean you should. A 9 hole course on the valley floor would have been better. The back 9 routing up and down the mountain on cart paths that switched back and forth continually was ridiculous. I don't know why pro shops fail to tell you they aerated the greens and put sand down before you pluck down your greens fee is beyond me. The greens were unplayable in my opinion. Constantly had to wipe sand off my ball and hands.

. I tried to play slow so I wouldn't be pushing the group ahead of me but caught myself waiting on a few holes. But with the views playing slow let me take some pictures and enjoy the mountains. I've played this course 3 or 4 times a year for the last 5 or 6 years. I could play another course in the area for free but I'd have to put up with not being treated very well so I chose to play this friendly course instead of playing a unfriendly course. Its worth the money.

Had fun but the wind was strong and we witnessed some snow for Mi-April.

My wife and I played a round recently and loved it. We are from Myrtle Beach and had to sneak in a round while visiting western NC. The course was beautiful and the elevation changes made it very challangeing. The staff was very friendly and we had a blast. Loved this beautiful mountain course!
