Weather had messed up greens, but they let us know ahead of time. We always enjoy this course.

Everything was enjoyable, they disclosed that they have greens in progress and that’s fine great landscape, beautiful grown in cool scenic views, a little piece of Paradise. Came as a stranger and left as a friend. Auf Wiedersehen 💛💫🫡

A friend and I visited Cherokee for the weekend, and I had the pleasure of playing at Smoky Mountain on a beautiful Monday afternoon. As the title says, the greens were in poor shape because of the extremity of recent weather in the area. I’m a native to WNC so, I completely understood. There had been a warning when I booked, so we expected the greens to be in poor shape.

However, the service, layout, and atmosphere made up for it and some. It’s a classic mountain course, with an inspired layout. The elevation changes mid hole, most par 3s are a shot down a cliff or mountain face, and the whole course captures the natural beauty of the area. I’m very excited to come again before winter and play on the greens when they are back to normal.

i played this course about 5 times, but not for about 4 years. The greens were non existent/ unplayable. that seems to be a problem in this area of the country after 4-5 months of heavy play. the staff was apologetic and helpful, but there was little they could do to salvage the play...

The greens had been damaged and were heavily sanded pending rebuild.

It’s a mountain course with a crazy layout. It’s worth playing at least once just to see it. The greens were awful, basically pressed mud. The fairways were in great condition.

If you’re looking for a scenic golf cart ride through the Smoky Mountains, the $80 price tag might feel reasonable. But if you’re coming to actually play golf, this course is far from playable in its current condition.

The tee boxes were in rough shape, and the greens weren’t greens at all—just rolled, packed dirt that played more like concrete. I’d estimate a 16–18 on the stimpmeter if you’re familiar with how fast hard surfaces roll. Fairways were passable and about what you’d expect for this time of year, but that’s about the only positive.

From a pure golf value standpoint, it’s a tough pill to swallow. Honestly, if you’re in it for the ride and the views, they could give Ridge Riders a run for their money. But as a golf course? Hard pass until serious improvements are made.

As a senior I enjoy this course because it is not too hard

Of course, was in tremendous shape, the Pace of play was very good.

The only the thing that could be improved on is more than the direction to the next hole. I still had no problem getting to the next hole. But those who are not as familiar with the course would

Not my first mountain course but definitely the best that I have played. The course was in excellent shape. For example, the greens were smooth and ran true. Furthermore, the tee boxes were in great condition, while the fairways were cut perfectly to get a nice run out from my drive. If you play this course, which I highly recommend, you will experience excellent customer service from the club house and outstanding food from the grill. Not only did the club pro give us a rundown of the course before we started, he walked outside to show us certain holes and how to play them In short, top shelf service for a 5 star course.

Awesome course to play in the Mountains. Amazing views at each hole. BUT... If you can't hit the ball straight, you will struggle here. Tight fairways with extreme drop offs on edge with alot of water hazards throughout the course as well.

If you've not played in the mountains, you should. We made a weekend of it and played this course and the nearby course back to back days. I enjoyed the country club course, very challenging with those big drops. Lot's of riding between holes too.

Pace couldn’t have been worse. Greens also punched w/o any warning, covered in sand. Not a good round at all

the elevation changes on some holes is dramatic. #5 has a drop off about 150 yds. from the green, requiring a substantial carry to not be in the trash- Unless you are really long, it is a lay up- I enjoyed the course, would play it again. If it weren't for the signage it would be easy to get lost. The distance from some greens to the next tee is extraordinary.

It wasn’t raining at the course, but it was raining in the mountain and because I live in Sevierville, Tennessee and have to cross over the mountain to Whittier, North Carolina and interstate 40 is closed due to hurricane damage. I couldn’t get to the course very disappointed.
