Springdale at Cold Mountain
About Springdale at Cold Mountain
Springdale at Cold Mountain has been bolstered in 2021 with a new clubhouse, which is the lifeblood of the resort's "Village at Springdale", which is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is home to the Rocky Face Tavern, a welcome center, fitness center and outdoor pool. An old stone patio and outdoor fireplace are gathering spots in summer. Guests can choose from 18 different villas, homes, townhomes and cottages to rent. The 6,865-yard course has also been recently renovated.Facts

WOW, Definitely Worth It!!
This course is a gem in the mountains. From the phone call explaining we’re running late due to traffic back up on interstate and the gentleman said no worries I’ll move you up please be safe & don’t hurry , to the exceptional personal greeting in the parking lot with our amazing & comfortable golf carts & course instructions, to the friendly & wonderful staff at the cafe and then the cart return employee…..what can we say….TOP NOTCH!!! The clubhouse with pro shop & workout room was beautiful and we can’t wait to play early enough next time to eat on the gorgeous restaurant!! The course is challenging but well worth playing especially for the views!!!! Thanks Springdale, we will definitely be back!!!
Just keeps getting better
You can really tell that they are putting money and effort into making this course as good as it can be. The conditioning has continually improved year over year. The routing does a lot to give you variety and challenge. The only thing that could improve is the design of the green complexes, as they are fairly basic with only rough and bunkers. Some short grass around the greens could great increase the design intrigue. The greens themselves are very well conditioned, though the mixture of grasses could potentially get a tiny bit bumpy towards the end of the day. 16 is a standout hole, with a fantastic look at the whole of Cold Mountain from the tee. The tee shot it self is demanding, as well as the second.
Overall, Springdale has certainly upped their game, and I can only imagine that they will continue to improve.
Springdale - a gem in the mountains
It has been over a year since I played here the first time. Now the clubhouse, golf carts and amenities are fully upgraded. While they are still finishing parking lots and some areas around the facilities, the course itself was in excellent shape in a beautiful mountain setting. Be ready for uphill, downhill and side hill lies in the lush fairways. This adds to the challenge. We will be back for sure
Fabulous
Having played here so much over the years before the rebuild the golf course is so much better now. Everything still coming in but it’s just great and should only get better as the course matures. The staff in the pro shop is so friendly and helpful they do a wonderful job! My wife and I play all over Carolina’s and we are lucky this can kinda be home for us. If you haven’t played here in a few years you really need to give it another try. You won’t be disappointed.
Great course will be back
This was a wonderful course with a fun layout and not ce greens. It was Spring conditions so I want to get back out when everything is in full foliage and the rough is grown in but even today it was really fun to play.
Jewel in the Blue Ridge Mountains
My favorite track in the greater Asheville area, truly a jewel in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The staff is super friendly and accommodating but the greatest compliment has to go to the greens keeper. Although I have not met him and would like to in order to personal thank him and the powers to be for taking such pride in this course. Proper sand in the bunkers, proper aeration and top dressing of the greens, proper water management, proper repair of the fairways etc etc.
Yes the greens roll true around 10-11on the stimp meter on April 1st, although the greens were hard and would not hold my shots as they usually do they were consistent throughout the round. Truly a Jewel.
Golf more
I always enjoy playing Springdale. Always a joy to play a mountain course.. The course I always a challenge and I love it.
New favorite WNC course!
This place is great, the views are beautiful, the course is in great shape, there isn’t a bar/restaurant at the moment but there will be one by March 20th or so and it looks like it’s gonna be great too just from peeking in the windows. The back nine eats my lunch but it’s fun.
Springdale headed for great things.
Springdale is a great course for all players. They have really turned around the upkeep and moving in the right direction!
The day we played they were controlled burning dead grass so it was a smokey mess. But all in all great place!
