Sawmill
Just what you expect at this course. Staff, Course was great. Every time I play there, just awesome. Front nine pace of play was perfect, never waited to hit a shot. Back nine play really slowed down at hole 12 (3 group on hole already). Course gets a little tighter and maybe tougher, But it was a beautiful day and booked up so it was understandable. They never disappoint.
Outstanding condition
One of the best conditioned courses that I have played in the area. Such a great value!
Nicest course I've ever played
Immaculate greens & fairways. Extremely challenging. Great deal for the price!
Well Maintained
Course was easy to navigate for a first timer. Greens, traps, tees fairways and the rough were all in great condition. Course was beautiful with plenty of variation between holes including elevation changes, dog legs, trees and water.
Hidden Gem
First off, the staff was excellent start to finish. I have never had so many people at a public course ask if we needed anything or that we enjoyed the course. The course was in terrific condition. It can be a bit challenging if playing the first time. Eager to give it another shot. Rate was good for the valued. Picturesque course. Definitely be back.
Saw Mill Creek golfing
Enjoyed our day, nice day and great weather, course in good condition
Immaculate tee to green
I love sawmill. The course is always pristine condition even when the weather is not great. The fairways were perfect, the greens are always fast and true, and the rough is thick and challenging. I have never had a bad experience at sawmill creek and thanks to golf now it was only 28 dollars for 18 and cart.
The Wind Increased the Difficulty
The course was in great shape. Playing in a steady 20 - 25 MPH (2 club) wind made the course even more challenging. Slowed the pace of play somewhat but still finished as a threesome in 4 hours. Downhill/downwind putts or chips were very difficult. Will definitely play again on a calm day.
Immaculate
First time playing here because otherwise it's $80 for 18 and a cart. Got an $18 hot deal and wow this course is awesome! Staff is friendly, greens crew is friendly and respectful, nice challenges on the course as well like hole #7. Will definitely play again if I can get it on a hot deal as I'm a broke nursing student haha. Amazing course though!!
lakeplay
Quality large greens. Stay below pin, pretty severe sloping on many. We played back tees where they are small in area and not very level. 45min to hour drive to get there and we played in 3 1/2hours, so overall shorter day. Nice patio over looking course for some repast.
enjoyable
very enjoyable course my game was abit under the weather. greens were quite a challenge had an awesome time
great course
This is one of the best courses in the area & it is well maintained with excellent greens true to the read.
Great conditions
After a dry summer, the course was in beautiful condition. Fairways green and soft, greens sticking and fast and beautiful scenery everywhere you look.
Windy Sawmill
We played on a Sunday afternoon and there were not that many golfers so we played without waiting and no one waiting on us until a twosome caught up to us on 16. Great course , difficult with very strong winds the day we played. Good variety of doglegs, short and long holes. We paid 50$, not sure if it is worth 85$
Nice Place
The course was in fantastic shape. The greens were a pleasure to putt on, although challenging. I was paired up with a few gentlemen from Cleveland and they made it an enjoyable round.
The only real criticisms I would have are:
1) no driving range (they don't have the property for it)
2) the par 3s - I just didn't play them well. And #7 (I believe) feels like it was kind squeezed in
All things considered I would come back in a heartbeat, great course overall
Course is challenging and in great condition
We have played Sawmill several times in the past and it was good to go back. The course was in great condition with fast , smooth rolling greens. It is right on Lake Erie which makes for nice breezes and good views. The only problem on this visit was the pace of play. It took an hour and a half to play the first 4 holes and over two and a half to play nine. Things did move much better on the back which we were able to play in a little over two hours. It was the first time we had ever experienced that kind of delay on this course.
Sawmill
Was in Lakeside for a wedding and had a day to myself. Was an easy drive and for Saturday morning was not overly crowded, got off first thing and played in under 2.5 hours and then played a second round paired up and got in around 3.5 hours.
Course is in nice condition with greens that roll true. Course markings were fair and abundant. One or two fairway areas under repair. Tee boxes were clean and in good shape. Bunkers were also fine. One or two holes are maybe a bit too much. Not many dog legs either. Holes are mostly wide open, not really as many trees on the course as I'd expect.
I didn't think it was over or under priced but don't know if a local would feel the same. Being from Florida it was just nice to not have to worry about water every other hole.
WoW!
Beautiful mature course was as great as you can expect. I would need to play here more to putt properly, but that is my problem.
The carts need GPS that would help the golfer and protect the course.
A pleasure
Course was in primo condition, greens were smooth and fast. A must play!!!
top notch all the way
great course, tough, fair and fun....just had a great great day and felt like I was living large
