About Falconhead Resort & Country Club
The Falconhead Resort & Country Club made a splash in the 1950s and early 1960s by hosting tournaments on both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour on its Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, putting Burneyville on the map for golfers. The LPGA Tour’s “Opie Turner” from 1958-59 and PGA Tour’s “Waco Turner Open” from 1960-64 only had short stints on their respective tours. The 6,488-yard course ranked among the top six in Oklahoma by GolfPass users from 2016-18. The resort includes a 16-room lodge and a cabin for overnight stays. Tennis courts, a season outdoor pool and bar/lounge area are also available. Hundreds of homes occupy the resort community.Facts

Course was nice
The course was looking good and playing good. The only downfall was the greens but because people aren't fixing their pivots. Overall was a great day.
Southern Oklahoma Golf
Made the 1.5 hour drive up from Dallas, and it was worth it. Staff were really nice, easy check in, and the pace of play was 3.5 hours. Bent grass greens were excellent and the rest of the course was in great shape. Will play again.
Enjoyable Day in Southern OK
Drove up from Dallas for the day and glad we did. Very enjoyable round on a well kept course that's fun to play. The bent grass greens were awesome! Staff was very kind and helpful. Pace of play with a 1000 tee time was 3.5 hours-Excellent!
Restaurant was closed, but we're able to get drinks and snacks at the pro shop. Will play again.
Nice course!
By far the best greens I’ve played on in recent memory. Beautiful bent grass, fast and rolled true overall the course was well maintained, no bare spots in the fairway. For the money such a deal! The only issue we had was with alcohol. We got some “incomplete” information from the cart ladies. They don’t sell alcohol at all on the cart. Told us we could get it at the clubhouse and take it on the course. What they should have said was you can buy beer AT THE PROSHOP and take that. If you go to the bar next door, you can take nothing outside. My Sad and son had to chug a couple of mixed drinks. Good for me since they didn’t sober up for several holes but bad for them. Again overall, best value on golf now I’ve gotten in a LONG time.
What a layout!
We arrived only to be told the front 9 was closed due to 90 mph winds and water from the previous night. So off to the back 9 we went. Their grounds crew deserves a bonus for even getting it open. Dead trees were everywhere, but not in fairways, tee boxes, or greens. These bentgrass greens are so smooth and tough to putt on, it takes a great chip/approach shot to even try for a birdie. It was nice being able to exact revenge on that nine the same day.
Nuce course in great condition
Course is a short 30 minute drive from Winstar. Nice layout and some challenging joles. Green were in great condition. Some of the best i have seen so far this year. Played as a single on a mo day morning and only saw 2 groups of players all day. I had the coirse virtually to myself and finished in about 3 hrs. Great course for the money. Only complaint was that there is no water provided on the course so bring your own.
Course wasn't in the best condition that I've seen it in. Greens had a lot of divots but fairways were in decent shape
Falconhead is a good deal
I would definitely come back on my next visit to the area, good value for your $$$
Always a challenge
This course is like a roller coaster for your emotions. Sand traps are playable now and they are definitely a hazard.
Can't wait to play again
Falcon Head
I have played this course several times and I have played there in all seasons. The greens are always in great condition. Bent grass greens that hold your approach shots and roll true. My recent round found the fairways coming out of dormancy. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant food is good! Their golf carts have gps. A great layout with some challenging holes. A great deal for the price. I come here in place of the golf courses at the mega casino. It’s only twenty minutes away!
can't say enough good things
still a great course wet or not
great greens
great amenities
great staff
you have no excuse not to come out and enjoy yourself
hidden gem
great course
different size greens from back to front nine
great amenities
and WELL worth the money
what a layout
great course
small greens on the front with tiered on the back nine and the ball will stick - they even give you a "ball mark" tool
You will make plans to come back
For Mid-Feb golf, no complaints condition or course wise. Greens were in great shape and fairways had grass on them. One negative was the Male working the pro shop, terrible attitude, tried booking a friend at last minute on an available hot deal, made him pay the course fee of $20 more, wouldn’t let us tee off early with nobody else on the course, required a polo in 50 degree weather while members were playing on course in shorts and t shirts.
