Falconhead Resort & Country Club
About Falconhead Resort & Country Club
The Falconhead Resort & Country Club made a splash in the 1950s and early 1960s by hosting tournaments on both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour on its Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, putting Burneyville on the map for golfers. The LPGA Tour’s “Opie Turner” from 1958-59 and PGA Tour’s “Waco Turner Open” from 1960-64 only had short stints on their respective tours. The 6,488-yard course ranked among the top six in Oklahoma by GolfPass users from 2016-18. The resort includes a 16-room lodge and a cabin for overnight stays. Tennis courts, a season outdoor pool and bar/lounge area are also available. Hundreds of homes occupy the resort community.Facts

great layout
great layout, greens pretty good for bentgrass in this heat. extremely friendly personnel.
Oklahoma road trip
Good for the price fairways and greens were in good shape...sand traps were unplayable had to drop out of them. Par 3s were long.
Great
Course was in excellent shape. Greens were the best I've seen in southern Oklahoma
A Hidden Gem
Ever since last year when I first noticed Falconhead on GolfNow I've wanted to play there. Well after several days of cool weather we knew the local courses would be packed with temps in the mid to upper 70's. So I looked up some remote courses and saw that Falconhead had a 4+ rating and thought what the hey, it's only an hour away! We were very surprised at the condition of the course. The greens were just awesome and you can tell that once the fairways green-up in the Spring this will really be better than 85% of the Dallas/Fort Worth courses. I'll surely return!
Found my retirement home.
Nice enough that I bought a lot on my second trip. Green fees are very reasonable for retired couples. retiring in 2 years and will probably build and live there. This is a much better value than any other property around the Dallas or OKC. I think we can play 11 months of the year.
middle of nowhere surprise
Spent some time camping about an hour away, then traveled to Winn-Starr casino on a recent trip. Decided to take clubs and find a place to play a round,( Winn-Star a little to rich for my blood) Saw the reviews on this course found a good deal at a time that worked so gave it a try. Very glad I did, nice lay-out, in good condition, very friendly staff made for an excellent time had by all.I will do this again and recommend this course. If not so far from my home I would be a regular here.
hidden gem
Signed up for a quick afternoon round after finding a super deal on golfnow. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Will play again.
course in excellent shape
I play this course a couple timea a month and ive never seen it look this good, great deal for the money
Nice track
I heard years ago that this course was built in the 70s by a wealthy oil man so he could host a PGA tour event there.
They have bent grass greens that rolled very nicely. A few of them were a little spotty. The fairways/grass were in very good shape but the ground was hard.
The tee boxes could use a little attention but I am really picking here.
Not many people were playing on a nice Sunday afternoon so I played at my pace...NICE
Nice layout
Nice course, great pace of play. Would recommend it if you are in the area.
Falconhead
Greens are great and fairways are nice, too. Would recommend giving it a shot.
Great track in OK
This is a really good layout and it's in great condition. You will have fun playing a round of golf here.
Great course!!
Course in good shape, with really nice greens and layout.
Great course
Between the scenic views and the condition of the fairways and greens makes this a must play. I will be playing it again real soon.
Outstanding greens
Played this course many times recently. Greens keep getting better and better. Fairways and tees are full and lush as well. We'll worth an hour drive.
Great greens, interesting back 9.
Mostly flat and straight-away front 9, but the back 9 is hilly and varied, with plenty of visual beauty and intimidation.
Fairways are in ok shape. But the bent-grass greens are really true, albeit difficult to putt because of the tiers and undulations.
Worth the 90-min drive from the Dallas area.
Nice
Course is in great condition right now an can't beat the price especially if you don't mind playing in the afternoon.
Good Time at Falconhead
Course has amazing greens!
Don't really like all the white stakes on most holes. Ball would be out of bounds here but playable on most courses. Consider changing?
Love the layout!
Bunkers were left in dirt mode because of rain. Staff should have ran raking machine after rain. We just lifted, raked and hit our shots.
Fun, and forgiving course
Enjoyable course with a nice view along the river. Forgiving fairway rough for those of us that tend to stray off the tee at times. A couple of the greens were patchy, but overall in great shape. Very friendly and accommodating staff at the pro shop.
Some really good things, few bad
17 of the greens were really nice bent grass with very few bad spots, 1 green early on the back was in poor shape and needs redone. Fairways old variety of thick blade bermuda were average. Tees need some work. Very friendly people and I was about the only one there on a weekday afternoon.
Cons: gas carts, and no drinking water on the course. Tips only like 6300.
