Falconhead Resort & Country Club
About Falconhead Resort & Country Club
The Falconhead Resort & Country Club made a splash in the 1950s and early 1960s by hosting tournaments on both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour on its Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, putting Burneyville on the map for golfers. The LPGA Tour’s “Opie Turner” from 1958-59 and PGA Tour’s “Waco Turner Open” from 1960-64 only had short stints on their respective tours. The 6,488-yard course ranked among the top six in Oklahoma by GolfPass users from 2016-18. The resort includes a 16-room lodge and a cabin for overnight stays. Tennis courts, a season outdoor pool and bar/lounge area are also available. Hundreds of homes occupy the resort community.Facts

Golf at Falcolnhead
Course in excellent condition. Enjoyed a very nice for golf at Falcolnhead. Course kind of tight and can be very challeging.
Great Greens
The course is fairly straight forward and the greens were in excellent shape on 6/12/17.
Southern Oklahoma Get-A-Way
Good place to go for a change of pace. This course is laid out in front of you, nothing really hidden. The clay based bermuda fairway holes played up and down a few hills, over and around a little water, beside some, not too tight, housing OB lines, that leads you to some very smooth, not too soft, and pretty speedy greens.
Its not a perfect course (where is?), but it lends to a serene, friendly, afternoon of golf where good shots are rewarded and bad ones are punished.
BTW - the greens generally pull to the south/southeast.
must play history
google waco turnet open.
this course is a classic. a reoccurring theme of greens with partial forced carries. relatively tight. if you are a true golf enthusiast, it is a special occasion to play a course that has held a pga tour event.
you can compare your round to legends.
we played a sunday at 11.
tbere was nothing to eat at the turn.
disappointing.
OK for the $
Although the screens were decent the rest of the course condition pretty poor. Couldn't play the ball down in the fairway. They were horrible. Layout is fair. Only 3 or 4 interesting holes. If it was more than $30 it would have been a ripoff.
This is the best keep secret in southern Oklahoma and a short drive from north texas
What a great value, excellent clean carts, well maintained course and buitiful greens; great staff in the Pro club and restaurant bar. Going back this weekend.
greens amazing
play here quite often.the price is well worth the the drive and green conditions.
bunch of OB
love the course. My friend was playing for the first time(hits a fade) ...but the course sets up better for a draw. Several holes he had to use a 3wood so I got the length advantage. Greens are excellent and soft. Too mush fun and we will BOTH be back again.
Just after punching & sanding
Enjoyed another fun round at Falconhead. Didn't mind the punching and sanding because it is part of maintaining good greens. These are good greens here and are the best thing about this course other than the low rate. I'll be back when I'm in the area.
OK OK
Ok course in Oklahoma was on my home and got a bargain 18.
Great Course
Nice golf course, we'll maintained, very friendly helpful staff course for the most part is open a few challenging holes. They have a great restaurant also have cabins for rent a great place for stay and play.
greens are great
awesome course in great shape
Fun layout, friendly people.
Great course to play. They have several levels of tee grounds, allowing all skills to play. It is a pretty course, easy to get to, and lots of fun to play.
Greens have gone downhill
About half the greens have large bad spots everywhere. Definitely not worth the drive (even from winstar) anymore.
resort really?????
OMG I have never written a review but save your money. The only thing nice about this place is the old man that runs the pro shop and the carts. I could go on and on about the greens; the abandoned houses; lack of signage to find it (don't use your GPS); the rude staff; drinking on the job; rude locals; microwave dogs; and price; but why bother.
Just stay away and go down to Winstar where everything is worth the $$$$$. My wife and I thought we would try something different, it certainly it.... We play lots of places and this is in the top three of the all time worse.
I WOULD NOT "RESORT" THIS TO....
Nice Little Secret
I love this course. Especially the layout. Being built on the side of a mountain, I don't think there is a hole on the back 9 that doesn't include a change of slope. Some nice views of the private lake as well.
A Gem
Easy drive from Dallas to course I've been aware of only since it popped up on Golf Now . Open since 1958, it hosted a Tour event in 1962 . Jack was there (finished third) and went on to win the Open later that year . Cool ! Beautiful layout on private lake and in nice condition . Bent grass greens in good shape but currently suffering from floods this spring . Fivesomes and sixsomes on member corse but they waved us through quickly. Everybody friendly and helpful .
great layout
great layout, greens pretty good for bentgrass in this heat. extremely friendly personnel.
Oklahoma road trip
Good for the price fairways and greens were in good shape...sand traps were unplayable had to drop out of them. Par 3s were long.
Great
Course was in excellent shape. Greens were the best I've seen in southern Oklahoma
