Monday...oops!
Matts only in warmup, and some wet areas around course. Like the irritation system was put in by someone like me..a novice.
No starter all day.
Redbud in great shape
Redbud is in great shape, watering every day.
Only negative is no shower in clubhouse.
Great Staff Beat Up Course
The staff and the facility is top notch but the course is beat up. Until they get the tee boxes fairways and the front of the green to have grass instead of dirt i wont come back. All that being said everyone there was fantastic! The bar tender was fantastic as was the pro shop staff. If management reads this give your staff a raise.
It would have been nice to know that all the green were sanded and fairway resoded
The course needs lots of work
I played the Redbud course because the other one was closed. The course is down to dirt on the tee boxes fairways and just before the greens. Its is not worth $100. The staff in both the restaurant and pro shop are fantastic but the course is beat up. I drove over an hour to get there and feel like it was a wasted trip. Hopefully they can fix it by next season but we will see.
Great Course…. But needs improvement
I played Winstar - Scissortail, 2 times last week and Monday the fairways were soaked from watering and made play much more difficult. Balls were sinking in the ground, getting no roll and made chipping almost impossible.
Saturday was a little better with how much had been watered but on the 10th hole, there were workers on the fairway spreading sand and half the fairway had the grass cut out of it and piles of sand in several places. No one told us the 10th hole would be under construction but open… I wasn’t going to hit a ball with several workers in the middle of the fairway, so we just skipped the hole.
To their credit, it looks like they are trying to resolve the issues with large patches in the fairways and greens that are just plain dead making putting an adventure, especially for a hacker like me.
The amenities are nice. Cold bottled water before you take off are provided along with ice. Filled my cooler up on the cart with 5 bottles of water and ice and refilled at the turn. There are air conditioned bathrooms on the course, which is a very nice amenity with more water provided at those.
So much potential here for the largest Casino in the world to do better with course conditions and this would be one of the best courses in the area dollar for dollar.
Nice course
I played the sissortrail course, Although they’re were some bad spots on the fairway’s the greens were in excellent condition. Overall good value
Don't waste your money!!
Course needs improvement. Some greens 80% sand with hardly any grass. Lots of bare mud holes throughout the fairways. Carts prevent you from driving in sections of the course and slow you down through main areas.
Scissortale Good
Played at 1030 on July 2nd believing that the course was going to be burnt from the lack of rain. Was really surprised to see they have put a tremendous amount of water so that fairways and greens were in very good shape. There were just a few spots I found that were needing attention but overall I was very happy. Staff, facilities and amenities were on par. Word of advice, don't get out of the fairway as the rough is thick grass and you will loose balls easily.
Lovely course
Drove up from Dallas to play a round here and it was so worth the drive. Great course conditions and even the 12th hole they warn you about is not bad at all. Plenty of amenities provided and great customer service as well. I will definitely be playing here as often as I can!
Didn't like the fact the starter had to put 4 in a group....instead of two
Great course, worth the drive!
Great course, the new clubhouse is unreal. This place is probably the 2nd best public golf in the DFW area, only second to PGA Fields Ranch.
On ScissorTail, they are having to regrow some fairway grass on a couple of holes, and on the 12th green. Nothing too bad and it will fill in this summer I'm sure. The fairways and greens are really good (the greens had just been punched but we're in good shape). Because of the winter dead spots, they discounted the round about 50%, which is more than other courses will even think of doing.
Do yourself a favor, play here, get there early, and enjoy the new bar area. Worth it.
