No fivesomes?
Couse was in good shape. They have a sign that says no fivesomed, however, there were 2 of them ahead of us. In fact, there were actually 6 people in the group ahead of us, but only 5 playing. Needless to say, they were slow, especially on the greens.
Decent course
Not hard, pretty open, could need some more sand in traps
Unable to play
Unfortunately I had a minor fall and pulled my hamstring muscle the day before I was to play and was unable to golf as a result
Rough was long…..Cart paths are a joke
Litter on the tee boxes. Trash haven’t been picked up in days….
Suncrest
Pace of play was extremely slow and was waiting in every hole.
The second issue was that i had invited friend to join my foursome and he accepted but when i got to course they had booked me with another twosome. Either Suncrest or GolfNow is at fault for either allowing an invitation to be accepted when group was full, or for the course to not recognize the acceptance of the invite and booking someone else into my group.
Slooooooow greens and blind holes
Greens were so slow I almost was ready to putt with my driver. I’m use to fast greens but these were very slow. It seemed like half the holes were blind shots. I tried this course for something different but I think I won’t be going back again. Carts were very old and beat up looking . At least mine was and cart paths weren’t that great. Bounced my insides around a lot. If it’s your first time there it’s hard to figure out some of the holes since a lot are blind shots.
Slow play loud music
2:45 min front nine. I felt like i was playing at a Rave. About 10 carts blasting music. It was like caddy out there. What a joke.
Slow, Slow, Slow
Waiting on just about every hole. There were 3 groups waiting to tee off on 16 tee. I left after that hole because I had enough and estimate total round would be close to 5 hours. Stay away!!
Good Value
Played a pre 7am with my wife and two other gents we were paired with, who were awesome strangers that were friendly and knew the course.
Pros-
Value-$44 for 18 and a cart is a very good price for the course
Difficulty Level- Smaller Greens and some narrow fairways. No sand or real water to contend with though. Undulations were tricky and there were a few blind pins.
Starter- All about his business and great at what he does.
Cons-
Cart Paths- Spine busters in a few spots.
No Cart Girl During the Round-We played from about 7-1030. Would have been nice to nab a water or pretzels during a hot round.
Pretty Tough Par 3s. 3 of the 4 are playing 180+ from the whites a with the longest a 219 today. Not necessarily a bad thing but tough for the less than average Joe, like me.
Fun at suncrest
Great day with course in great condition, see you. Again soon.
