Better course management
We went out today and it was delay for 30 minutes. Which I didn’t mind since the staff gave us a heads up that there was outing finishing up. However, as the round progresses, the pace of play started to slow down a lot. We notice in front of us there was a group of 6 playing in front of us. We called in to let the front desk know and nothing was done about it. After 2 holes, the group let us jump in front of them. However, we ran into another group of 6. Called in again and nothing was done about either.
Heritage Hills
Great Course, friendly staff, only one issue... our tee time was given to a double foursome, which was really disappointing as we were early to check in. The double 4-some went out in front of us and did not let us play through. We did ask to start on the back 9 and we were told no. Just a bit disappointing that our tee time was given to some impatient golfers who played at a really slow pace of play and did not follow golf etiquette to allow us to play through. No Marshall on the course either to keep the pace of play up.
5 minutes between tee times makes for a long slow round
The pace of play has to be addressed by the management of this course. I have played several times over the past weeks and it has been an issue every time. Yesterday we played and it was a total of 5 1/2 hours to complete the round. I enjoy a slower pace course but this is reaching unacceptable limits. Was advised that tee times are spaced 5 minutes apart which if this is the case there is no possibility of keeping a decent pace. Two guys in my group had plans of becoming a member until yesterday's round which changed their minds and decided against it now. Could be the best course in the area if it was better managed
Overall great condition - greens rolled well !
Loved it .. but pace of play was terrible - 5:15 .. teed off before 12:00pm & saw multiple backups throughout the course but did catch the tail end of a scramble tournament ..
Regardless - course, conditions, staff, food all were great .. def. will be back
Handicap - 10.5
Overall golf is good, some staff not so much
Greens were fairly smooth but have seen them much quicker, pro shop gets a 3 star rating but bar staff gets a 2. Unless you’re a regular who is known you wait and wait and receive poor service. If I’d known about the poor restaurant staff I’d of save the $100 I spent there. It was embarrassing taking a client there and receiving such poor service. Your starter that day was aces, keep that guy on.
Worst PACE ever!
We arrive for an early 6:30 tee-time. Upon arrival the starter tells us they have an afternoon event, so they are sending off players from 1 and 10. Not a problem. But, you CANNOT send golfers onto the course at 6 to 8 minute intervals from both the Front and Back!
We turn the corner to go to No 1, and there are 3 groups waiting in front of us. 20 - 25 minutes standing around to tee off on #1! Ridiculous. If you are charging $75+ for a round of golf in Central PA, you do not need to be greedy with doubled-up tee times. Every hole on the second nine was a long wait!
I am done with Heritage Hills.
Heritage Hills Blast
Other than the construction on the 1st and 10th tees the course is in great shape. The greens roll true and I had a blast playing my best golf. Highly recommend this course to anyone coming thru the area.
Heritage Hills Treat
Got to play Heritage Hills for the 1st time in YEARS!!! There was some major construction going on at the 1st & 10th tees but that did not take away from the awesome round I managed to put together. The course otherwise was in great shape, greens were rolling perfectly and life was good. Highly recommend Heritage Hills to anyone contemplating playing a round there
Overpriced and Pick your time wisely
From our arrival on the driving range and putting greens, very impressive, unless you want a better feel for your distance ( which would be horrible). But to swing the clubs and warm up, I’m ok with that. Pretty cozy sitting areas and even extra features of some kind of videos I did not look into. Onto golfing. First nice feature was a cart equipped with gps, ball and club scrubber. Course itself very nice. Beautiful fairways and greens. However, lots of bunkers that more like hazards (fine with me, I just took relief, lol).
Cart paths left me with a case of whiplash. Kudos to my Ask Echo bag for keeping my clubs quiet. The real issue was the 5.5 hrs for 3 of us to play a round of golf at what is normally $75. While talking to other golfers in front and behind us, this seems to be a big issue at this course. Just keep this in mind if you choose to play here. I will definitely play again but I will choose my next tee time wisely. As we were finishing our round, it appeared to be very few golfers on the front.
