About Pocono Manor Resort & Spa
Life changed at Pocono Manor on Nov. 1, 2019, when a fire ripped through the historic inn, causing significant damage that's led to an ongoing closure. Although there are plans to renovate and rebuild, only the golf course is currently open. Currently, golfers looking to stay and play the historic course can book accommodations at nearby partner properties through the resort website. There is food available in the clubhouse.Facts

Pocono Golfers
This coarse is fun, just enough of a challenge to keep us coming back
Excellent condition
Pocono Manor was in excellent condition. Hadn't played there since the late 1960's. The greens are small and there wasn't a front, middle, back designation on the pins. Only three sand traps on the entire course. Golf Now rates are definitely the way to book your tee time.
Worth a second look
Course is in really good shape, and much improved from 3 years ago (last time I played the course). Interesting par 3 holes! Tee boxes and greens in excellent condition. Very competitive course layout, playable for beginners and intermediate (me) players.
Nice Course
We had a morning tee time, and already the greens had taken a lot of abuse. The course gets a lot of resort novice golfers, who "do not" fix ballmarks which make putting a challenge. Almost every cup had the rims damaged from people not paying attention when removing and replacing the flags. I commend the staff for maintaining the course in the shape they do under the circumstances.
course was good..
had to wait on servral holes. the course was busy. a little lightening at the end, but we finished
Great day
Course was in good shape. Played at 9:00am for $35 which you can't beat. Finished in 3:40
Pocono Golfers
This is a good coarse, well maintained just enough of a challenge to make you come back.
Pace of play can sometimes get backed up, so you need to be patient
Great old style course. Perfect for resort area.
Played course with wife and daughter. I am a 15 handicap and they are working on their game. Pace was great and we did not feel rushed. The course is a great layout with various lie opportunities. Perfect course for medium and beginner players.
POcona Manor
We were impressed with the improvements of course condition, since the last time we played it 4 years ago.
The fairways were in excellent shape, the greens were a bit slow but understandable given the recent air rating. I was told that they had a new greenskeeper which showed immediately. We'll definitely go back and play it again.
new yorkvery wet standing water on the fairways and some of the greens cart paths only on the 14 hole a woman was hit in on her toe by a golf ball and she refused to leave the fairway until the staff came out and treated her 6 group backup we left
Poor Course Condition / Rowdy Players
Have played Pocono Manor many times; first time I'm providing a review, due to poor conditions of fairways and greens - no excuse, given all the rain this Spring.
Secondly, despite rangers passing by them the two groups ahead of our foursome (a two-some and a three-some), Nothing done, even though they joined up to make a five-some. They were not only rowdy, but incredibly slow. Indeed they were leaving beer cans on the course. How a ranger passes this five-some up without taking action is unconscionable.
Pace too slow
The round lasted too long, actually played a fivesome and the course was still backed up by an outing. The golfers were using one bag.
Great Value
After being away from the Pocono's for 15 years we bought another house and are back. I had always enjoyed playing at Pocono Manor with my son and friends and still do. I was sorry to see the west course is no longer there though. The weather was far from perfect with a light drizzle and fog but the course was in excellent condition. Unfortunately we had to stop after the 10th hole because the fog got so thick we couldn't see more then 50 yards. We will definitely be back when the weather improves.
Pathetic Pace of Play
I'll start this by saying I am an Assistant at a large golf resort and have played here before many times. After this past round I will only give this course one more chance. I was regretting having to pay $40 to play a poor round when I can play for free whenever I want. The pace of play here is horrendous. The ineptitude fon the operational side is disturbing, no support from staff, what seemed like quadruple bookings.. etc. The round was a joke from the moment we pulled up to the tee box and I was somehow able to put up a good score. At the tee box for an 11:50something tee time we had to wait for 4 foursomes to tee off before we were up. By that point it was 12:30. There was one employee just watching the tee box from 80 yards away the whole time making no effort to control the situation. We had to wait 10+ minutes on nearly every shot. When you have multiple 200yard looks on your second shot into par 5s it's frustrating to be iced while waiting for the group in front of you taking 5+ shots to reach the green. No ranger trying to help out and apparently the beverage cart gets off for the day at 3 on a Sunday. The greens and tee boxes were in great shape on most holes but I'm not a fan of the layout. The only water and sand on the course is on 18 so this is not a huge test even from the tips. 3 is a blind par 3 which to me is ridiculous and there's another par 3 that's 77 yds. Nearly drove the par 4 5th with a light swing 3 hybrid which just should not happen. I'm going to come back to this course and give it another shot at twilight. I can get past the questionable layout as long as the pace isn't brutal which it is in the late morning. My recommendation is either go during twilight or pass on this place.
Downhill past two few years
Went here as foursome with friends and boy was it a disaster. Course was in poor shape. Shotguns from skeet shooting are blasting constantly on holes 1 and 2. We had a tee time before for 11:30 AM and did not get to hit on first tee until 1pm. This course has no starter or ranger to help with pace of play. Anyone who appreciates the game of golf should steer clear of this course. 6 HOUR ROUND!!!!
