Easy like Friday Morning
Got around quick, caught a foursome on hole 4, they let us play through on Hole 5. We played 18 holes in under 3 hrs, not bad considering we shot mid 80's.
Great little stopover on an I-95 drive
I drove from NC to FL and planned a 4 hour break on the course. I was immediately impressed when walking into the clubhouse. Everything was clean, stocked, and nice, including the pro shop and restaurant (I didn't try the food, but the server was friendly when I got water). The practice area was excellent. The course was in good shape, including green fairways. Even though the pro shop attendant said they got a bunch of rain, they only had a few holes closed to carts, and even those were pretty dry. The greens were mostly good (and pretty fast), but the edges sometimes had little to no grass. My main problem with the course is the layout. There is no tee option between 6125 and 6858 yards (no mixed tee option either). That's simply too big of a difference. There were also several severe doglegs where tall pine trees exclude a driver for anyone but the shortest of hitters, leaving approach shots of 150 or more yards. Even a sharp draw or fade wouldn't help enough. Shortening or cutting down a few trees would make it far more interesting as risk/reward holes rather than target golf.
Nice late winter afternoon
Course was in very good shape for all the rain we've had over the past couple months. For the price and time of year, props to the greenskeeper and staff. Looked like new sand in the bunkers as well. Greens were the best we've played in greater Charleston public affordable courses over the past 3 months.
Good round
Course was cart path only due to excessive amount of rain. However it was still very playable. Would definitely recommend this course.
Always Good Experience
Always a great course. Wet from recent rains. New carts are nice, but they won't last long with the bad cart paths, Probably our only complaint about the course. Staff are always very nice.
Santee golf
Back nine lots of doglegs to play very fun overall enjoyable will be back
Return visit
My son and I enjoyed this course as much the second round 👍
Great Course
new carts are nice, they have redone sand traps so are better to hit out of than before where some were like hitting off concrete. course was in great shape especially since it's winter, greens great as usual, pace of play slow due to other golfers lack of etiquette to let slower groups through or singles/doubles play through. Overall, a great place to play in the Charelston area though a ways away from Charleston but worth the drive, especially when considering price and course conditions.
Awesome
This is probably my favorite course to play in the low country area easy to manage for a high handicapper.
Road Trip 2023
Although is was CPO from heavy rain, the course is in great shape. Tees and greens are awesome
A Hidden Gem in the midlands of SC
Always an adventure visiting Santee to play, eat, lounge around and drive back home. The Course is quite and feels tranquil at times while playing.
