Great course
This was my 3rd time playing this course. As always, is a great “get right” course. Not too much trouble and good shots are rewarded with scoring chances. Not much in the way of blind trouble, so course is pretty much right in front of you. Fairways were in great shape, but greens were in pretty rough shape with root rot. Looked like this was not the only course in the area having this issue, but a couple of the greens were close to unplayable in spots. Staff was great as always.
Good course layout and enjoyable.
Enjoyed the course. It was in great shape except for the greens where they admittedly have had some issues. The greens are coming back though and should be in great shape in a few weeks. Would definitely play again.
Terrible greens
Tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape but the greens were terrible…..dead spots on every green….not told in advance and no cut on the price
Myrtlewood Palmetto Course
Pros:
-Early tee time available
-Fairways and roughs were in good shape
-Clubhouse staff and starter were very friendly
Cons:
-Literally no food/drink available on the course until 9-10am. Was told the cart girl would be around shortly and didn’t see her until the 12th hole. Granted we had the third tee time, but don't advertise it as if she starts when we do. The course doesn’t turn at the clubhouse and the “snack shack” doesn’t open until 10. Not to mention it only took cash, which we didn't have enough of on us. We were absolutely parched by the time we were able to get something. Cart girl had the personality of a napkin and seemed annoyed that we even asked her to stop.
-Greens were in bad shape. Clubhouse instructed us to pick up after two putts, but not advertising this some way before making the tee time would have been nice.
Good challenge
This was our first time playing this course. It was a good challenging course with lots of sand traps and water. Some fairways were tight and a lot of small rolling mounds all over the course was a nice feature. I would definitely play it again. The only part that was not so great. The greens were not in very good condition. A lot of patches. Overall, a good course and would rated a great course if the greens were in better condition.
Course
Course was very nice, but the greens had some disease, and they weren't in good shape
Once they fix this issue, it will be rock solud
Unfortunately all the greens are in bad shape…..this is not the norm. I’m sure they will get them under control. Other than that it’s an outstanding course.
I have seen better cow pastures
I have been playing golf for 60 years and have never seen greens in such bad shape. The tees, and fairways are just average, but playable. What happened to all the greens?
The man at the counter in the pro shop was not very friendly to the patrons. Maybe he is also the Head Greenskeeper.
Hope this course can fix their problems soon, because it seems like it could be a fun track to play.
I won’t be back anytime soon.
Greens are Horrible
No one in the clubhouse told us the majority of greens have dead spots in them. It wasn't till we got to the first tee when the starter told us that we were not going to have a great day on the greens. Wouldn't have played if I knew. Played the Palmetto and Pine Hills course 15+ times but no more. Be honest about the course condition and not try to screw people over.
So so
Not the friendliest guy, telling us to leave our clubs when I told him we are perfectly capable of putting them on the cart ourselves. Then when he place them on cart, had to undue them just to get to my towel as he had it wrapped so tight!
MB Golf
Course was nice overall but the Greens were terrible.
Worst greens ever
Palmetto course claims that they offer well-manicured Bermuda grass greens.
This could not be further from the truth!
The greens were fungus diseased and not playable.
If you like to play golf on a golf course that does not include putting, this course is for you.
Don’t waste your money. There are many other fine courses in Myrtle Beach that you can enjoy a round of golf on.
Terrible condition
The greens were severely damaged. All greens had areas of damage and patches of no grass at all. Fairway conditions were poor with the same problems. It could have been from too much rain but other nearby courses were in much better condition. There was no mention of the conditions online or in the pro shop. I found out from the starter on #1. No discounted rate either. The cost was nearly $100 and you at times could not move your ball on the green to find a way to avoid the damage areas. Wait a few months and ask before you book this course.
Worst Course in Mrytle
Worst course I’ve ever played. They shouldn’t even allow people on this course. I was told the greens were punched but that would have been the best case scenario. You can not classify that as a green I’ve seen terrible neighbors with better grass than this course.
Greens are currently unplayable
Greens are currently unplayable. staff and everyone was very friendly and they gave each player 2 free drinks as an apology before the round started for the green conditions. The greens are unplayable. half dirt and the ball bounces everywhere like crazy. there’s no true roll. for $90/player you should expect playable conditions and it was far from it. i’m sure it’s something they are working through diligently but there’s no chance anybody should EVER pay $90 for that. Fairways/tees are in good shape. Just can’t see how they aren’t discounting green fees for players. last complaint is they sent off a 5some at 820 in thr morning. backing up the entire course. we teed at 830 and finished at 1:05.
