Excellent Track!
Great layout! The fairways are tight and the greens are typical for a Dye layout. The staff was excellent!
Had a great experience. It was a very hot and humid day, but there was plenty of water and iced towels to keep us as comfortable as possible. Our forecaddie TJ was awesome. He had a great attitude did a nice job with our foursome.
First time playing Atlantic Dunes at Sea Pines Resort
A fantastic golf experience! Atlantic Dunes at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head, SC was a first rate experience from the range to the course to the 19th hole meal and beers at the clubhouse. It rained the entire day before our round at Atlantic Dunes, but the course played like it had been dry the day before. This course is in excellent shape right now and was very challenging, but fun for a beginner golfer like me. My father in law and I played as a twosome and the pace of play was excellent throughout our entire round. The course had just been through some maintenance but the greens were still in very good condition. Lots of sand on this course and I managed to find most of it, but still had a great time. Great practice facilities and a wonderful clubhouse made for an excellent overall experience. I will definitely play Atlantic Dunes again the next time I'm at Sea Pines.
A+ Atlantic Dunes!
The old Ocean Course Sea Pines has always been a classic but the redesign has actually improved one of the best courses on HHI. Conditions were A+ - like country club, pro tournament A+ . Tees, fairways, rough, waste areas, bunkers, and greens all perfect. Really. Great playable layout wont kill you like Harbor Town (even though also great) will. Facilities are also top notch here with a beautiful clubhouse, locker rooms, restaurant, etc. Honestly just a great experience. The only negative is the lack of GPS on the carts which for the $$$ to play here you should have. Other than that, A+ Atlantic Dunes keep up the great work! Will definitely return!
Great layout
Course was just punched. Not worth the money for the condition. Would love to play it before it was airation.
Better than it was
I must say that even though to the naked eye you don't readily see a ton of changes on the front side, Davis Love III did a great job redesigning the old Ocean Course. You really see changes on the back nine like the change of # 10 becoming a par 3 over water and 11 turned into a short par 4. The bunkering and the new green complexes are spectacular. I would highly recommend you put this course on your itinerary to Hilton Head.
Greens still recovering
I loved this course, but be aware of some short doglegs off the tee. I got into trouble a few times without knowing the course layout. The greens were still recovering from a recent punch (8 days earlier) - yes, I was aware of this in advance, so I pushed this course to my last day of vacation. They were pretty good, but I'm excited to get back out there and eat this course up next time! Thanks for having Yuenglings in the bev cart!
Perfection!
Beautiful. Not the hardest, or best, or whatever you want to say - but it was gorgeous and a lot of fun to play! This place is first class inside and out. I'm looking forward to next years trip!
Bucket list course
Definitely a course to play if you are in the area. You have to use a caddy so make sure you budget for it. Well maintained and beautiful layout.
Nice course
We were not very impressed with the course. It was beautiful and the conditions were great, but we could play two, or maybe three times at other courses for the rate we paid here.
Great experience
My wife and I played on a Monday morning. The pace was good and our Fore Caddie, TJ, was great. He was very knowledgeable of the approach to the holes and made sure we had fun. He never failed to find our ball, even on some of our more errant shots. He took photos for us along the way. Conditions were excellent. The course has some beautiful and challenging holes. It is pricy, but it was the most memorable experience of our week in Hilto Head. I highly recommend playing here if you are in HH.
Course was in great condition. It was open in the afternoon so the pace was perfect.
Harder
Played the old Ocean Course many times, I like most of the improvements. Some of the new greens are 'gimicky' with big mounds in middle. New #10 is good. From the back tee, all the par 3's are roughly same yardage which in my opinion is poor design...more variety would be nice. Last 4 holes are awesome. Nats were the worst ever. Facilities first class. Great walking course, just be careful of play behind you when you're walking to or playing from the tee. New bunkers look great.
What can I say!!!
Been waiting to play this course for years. Watched tourney on tv so many times that this time in Hilton Head we said we definitely we'd play and so we made our tee time. Our fore caddy Paul (every group has one) was great. No lost balls and he helped us read all putts. Greens have subtle breaks so if you play use their knowledge. Course was in great shape. Souls definitely play this again. Much better views then you see on tv.
Harbor Town Golf at it's best
This is a beautiful golf course that is well maintained and fair, but challegening lay-out. Steve, our fourcaddie was super friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone who can afford the greens fee!
Grossly overpriced
Average course layout, average conditions, terrible value. I've played numerous courses with better layouts and conditions for half the price. Hard to believe it's a Dye course.
