About Tudor Oaks Inn

The Tudor Oaks Inn in Summerville, South Carolina, is a small outpost with only three rooms named after famous golf courses in Scotland (St. Andrews), England (Sunningdale) and Ireland (Royal Dublin). It sleeps only six, but staying has its perks: Access to the golf and tennis at the adjacent semiprivate club, the Legend Oaks Golf & Tennis Club, which offers the Bistro One18 restaurant. Tudor Oaks Inn, which also has an outdoor pool, is located within 25 minutes of Charleston and near three large plantations worth touring - Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and Drayton Hall.

Stay. Away.

This course has one thing going for it. It's a pretty decent layout, a lot of fun holes. That being said, its in horrible condition. The slowest greens in the lowcountry, I felt like I was putting on fairways. Even freshly mowed for the day, was way to slow. Running maybe a 4. The course needs help bad. For $80 its a complete rip off, go play any other course in the area. They might need to deep punch or fully rebuild the greens. Multiple bunkers with deep standing water. Rough so deep you can barely find your ball. Multiple tee boxes closed off to let grass grow. (One usual 150 yd par 3 was playing 90 yards)

These greens are too slow to take this course seriously. Go play any other course, there's tons better value for the money in the lowcountry. If you are the owner, please punch and sand your greens and cut them shorter. Or redo them. Its BAD.

Beautiful course

The course was in great shape. It was a little wet when we arrived but dried out pretty quick. My two complaints would be, we had to use cart path only when the grounds were dried out and the club rental was quite expensive.

Great people, might come back in a few years.

The people here are great! The course needs work. Many holes have grounds under repair and tee boxes and greens that need serious help. It seems they are working towards improvement. But for what it is, it’s much more expensive than it should be.

Terrible time

I hate to leave a negative review - because despite soggy conditions, the course was nice. Good fairways, maintained rough, mostly nice greens. Staff were nice, food was good. But my god this was by far the single. Worst. Pace. Of. Play. I’ve. Ever. Experienced. I didn’t even get to finish 18. Couldn’t even skip because 3 holes deep it was jammed up. Guys with no sense of pace of play or golf etiquette. I’m all for a good mulligan, but when you have a literal line behind you, maybe rethink hitting your 7th ball. There was no one from the course to keep things moving. I literally took a 45 minute lunch break and caught the guy in front of me in 2 holes. 2 holes. That’s disgusting. If anyone was paying any attention to pace of play, my rating would’ve been higher. But I’ve never had a less enjoyable day on a golf course than today. For context, it took nearly 4 hours to play 15 holes before I gave up and called it a day. Teed off around 3 on a Wednesday, played solo. There is no excuse for 15 holes taking that long. I played another course yesterday in 2 hours and 20 minutes, all 18. That’s insanely fast yes, but today was the polar opposite. Pace of play needs to be at least somewhat moderated folks, sincerely - dude who should’ve been done an hour ago and got to play all 18 I paid for.

Mediocre course

Two big challenges. One, the majority of the greens are in terrible shape. Two, the cart path is the worst I have ever seen. All broken up, looked like an earthquake hit, not in just a few places but the majority of the path. Lots of blind water and the score card doesn’t have the course layout on it to at give a hint.

Legend Oaks

I have played Legend Oaks several times. My only complaint about the pace of play is that the two or three groups playing ahead of me, were holding up the rest of the groups. This is not the course to impress the girlfriend riding along and hitting 2 balls every hole. The 3 some ahead of him was just hacking the away; granted I was 2 holes behind them. Still was able to catch them after the turn; when it dawns on them to let me play through. Some of the greens were a little beat up, but still playable.

Nice course but needs water

Nice layout. Greens were very slow. Told by another golfer due to the dry spring season.
