Poorly designed course in terrible shape
I still am not sure how to describe the back nine. That is not a golf course..... more like a putt putt course. Would not recommend this course. Many better courses in the area for the price.
Bugs
The nets were bad. Need bug spray. Slow play. Several groups of 5. Kids playing with parents club.
Not Pleased
Course was not wjat we expected. Very disappointed.
Great course
Enjoyed the day - gnats were a problem but any day playing golf is a great day!!
Wild Ride
Front nine is fairly open, straightforward golf. The creek comes into play on virtually every hole. The back nine is the opposite, Numerous blind shots make local knowledge important. The greens were good, but the fairways and cart paths could use some attention. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We used a Hot Deal and played for $30. I probably wouldn't play it if I had to pay full price.
Nice view!
Bent creek has awesome views and scenery, the pro shop staff was very friendly and helpful. We got to play at our own pace, which was nice! The only negatives were the bugs, bring something with 40% DEET. The greens also had some rough spots and were very bumpy. Didn't look like many people fixed their divots, or that the greens hadn't been rolled lately. The bounce back play price is great also, $20 each round for any round after the first.
Gatlinburgs Best kept secret
Upon arrival I was treated like a friend. the southern hospitality matched the standard that I have learned to expect in Tennessee.
The course was as challenging as it was beautiful.I will definitely return and play again
bent creek
Overall course condition avg nice views challenging course 5 rating
Bent Creek
This is one of the silliest golf courses ever developed. The front 9 plays like a poor public/muni course. Course was shaggy and poorly maintained. The back 9 is one of the most ridiculous layouts you could imagine. Short par 4's with 90 degree turns 150 yard landing areas. Shooting through openings in trees to blind areas. I've never seen anything like it. Most players were older resort residents who shouldn't really even be playing golf. The older 4some behind us had at 1 time 3 groups on the tee box waiting to play. All you could do is shake your head.
Bent Creek
I enjoyed this course the creek that runs through the course makes it harder. The knats were bad and made the day less enjoyable but over all I enjoyed the day.
Entertaining, but this course needs some work
I've played this course many times over the course of about 28 years and although I have always like it, Bent Creek appears to have some issues. Just the facts;
The premises in general needs to be better maintained....fairways were not cut....cups were grown inward, had not been fresh cut in many days....front nine greens had been aerated and had not been cut so verrry slow.....water running across greens 11 and 16....insects were thick buzzing around face....hole 13 trees in opening need to be cut back....in general, needs attention.
Sky High On 14th Hole
Used to be a great course. It has suffered through age. I am hoping Diamond Resort spends money to repair. The signature hole is the 14th hole. It is on top of a mountain ridge where you walk several steps up to hit a shot over tree tops to a small window green. Thank you Gary Player for such a majestic hole.
my day at bent creek
Beautiful scenery, great weather.if it wasn't for all the bugs and goose feces it would have been great.bring 2 cans of OFF and a clothes pin for your nose cause all I could smell was goose feces
A great design
Front nine and back nine are like two different courses. Great course and very good design.
Very Challenging
Very interesting course. The first 9 holes are fairly easy except for the creek running through or next to every hole. We stopped and got a burger and beer before the 10th hole and the women at the grill told us 1 beer would probably not be enough for the back nine!! She was right!! Narrow, doglegs, water, layup shots, cliff shots from elevated greens, etc. It was a great course to play and very scenic. We will definately come back and play again.
Great scenery and some challenging holes
We have played this course several times when we visit Gatlinburg and love the scenery and interesting holes on the back nine. Quite a bit of water, and the 40 step climb to the tee box on #14 is different and fun. Only negative comment we have is that sometimes you have to watch out for geese droppings on the front nine. The staff is very friendly too. Our favorite Gatlinburg golf course for sure!
Loved the Challenge
I play every day and I am a low handicap golfer. When I read the reviews for this course and everyone said it was challenging I figured it was people who hadn't played much. I found this course challenging, you have to be able to hit it straight, not a good course for beginners. It was an absolutely beautiful course and a fun challenge! I will definitely come back many times!
less than expected
the course has too many doglegs. I had to hit several irons from the tee. The greens were good but that is where it ends. Course is short of room so it is all pushed together. We stayed at the resort but will play the rest of our golf elsewhere.
Poor direction of course layout
To much work to find direction u are hitting in and which flag are u suppose to hit at
Winter time golf
Played five rounds this week while here on vacation. It is still winter time here and the fairways are brown and the greens not to green. There was snow on some of the fairways early on the week but soon melted. Still even with that this course is awesome and I look forward to playing it in September when we return. The staff is friendly and helpful.
