Review
Love the course. Wasn't a fan of being told we were behind pace multiple times. The group behind us was never waiting on us. We started a few minutes late waiting and listening to the guy tell us about course at hole 1. Cart said we were 8min behind pace at halfway point and it was cart path only. Thought we were moving good and I played my best round ever! He came back and said sorry, it's the group behind you. Then another guy asked us to help and speed up so little confused on that but overall I enjoyed my time. Thinking about being a member
Public course with a private experience
First time i put the wallet out to play ($85 - maybe worth it?), and this course blew me away. The staff welcomed me with a golf cart and range balls - I'm already feeling welcome here. The course was fair with many rolling hills to penalize an off-line tee shot, paired with tight fairways. I wish their flags designated a pin position, as they were all blue and some false-fronts left me guessing. I played the blue tees and i should have backed up to the golds. A lot of holes felt short, often hitting 5-irons into 9-irons on par 4's from the Blue tees. I finished up with an 83 being a 11-HCP for my first time there. The greens aren't terribly undulating, but pitched to front/back and fast with the grain (even when wet!). Each hole was different and while i appreciate some iron lay-ups, i'd play a further back tee next time just for some better targets on my driver. All in all, one of the best public courses i've played within 10 miles of nashville due to the staff and fairway/bunker/green conditions.
Nice course
Pace of play was slowed by 4 some ahead of us. Very well kept course. Probably the best public course in the area I have been to
Great track and incredible condition
This is a great public course in Nashville. One of the closest feels to country club level, very comparable to the quality of the Hermitage. The practice facility at Gaylord can’t be beat! The course is great, very approachable for a mid to high handicapper, but can also be a long players course due to the approachable greens. I take lessons out there and hit balls a couple times a month, quickly becoming my go to course.
Too hot
Links style course. Very hot in August. Recommend that they pass out cold towels during days above 95
So fatigued wanted to not finish. Went through three gloves.
Worth the money
Great course
Well maintained
Great staff
Challenging yet playable
Aug. 6th Review
Course is in GREAT condition right now - greens are rolling excellent. Pace of play was a little slower than I thought it would be but what can ya do! Staff is excellent and willing to help with anything and the course is very fun to play. Can’t wait to get back out.
You should try it at least once
Great course overall, the only drawback for me was that some holes were very close to each other, but that won’t stop me from playing again, just have to watch out for other golfers. The starter was very informative, so ask about the course when you start. A couple of holes had areas under repair, but they were properly marked.
Due to the current climate a proper review of the off course amenities could not be given.
Enjoy!!!
A must play in the Nashville, TN area
This is one of the best courses in Tennessee. You must play this course if in the Nashville area. A links type course with lots of risk/reward holes where you can make birdies but be careful a miss on the wrong side or going above the could lead to bogeys or worse. Most of all don't forget to enjoy the round and the beautiful course.
