Distracting maintenance
Guy riding around in a huge tractor placing bails of sod around the course. Really loud and he was in our way a lot. I had to call the pro shop to get him to stop. Other than that it was enjoyable.
Challenging course
Just like the title says. Very challenging but very well designed. Lots of rolling fairways and greens are lightning fast. If you want a good all around challenge I recommend this course. Well worth the money.
Wow!
Stunningly picturesque, starting with the first hole. Nice glimpses of the river on the front nine. Absolutely the one great public course that is a must-play in Nashville. Challenging but not punitive. Clubhouse is gorgeous and staff is very pleasant.
Resort Golf
Gaylord Springs is a nice resort course. Plays in a river bed, but the river isn't really in play as there are enough trees lining the fairways on the water side on those holes.
It's resort-links style, so the rough was mowed just a little taller than the fairway. I could see it being tougher if they let it grow. A few holes, like 4/5 you need to play a couple times to figure out the right lines off the tee, but they were n ice holes. A lot of straight forward holes throughout, with several elevated greens.
Course was in great shape, save for the 16th fairway. Greens were like smooth carpet, even in twilight when I played. Stay below the hole as putts down can/will accelerate beyond the hole (as I sadly found out). They provided ice towels which was a nice touch on the hot afternoon.
It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth a go if you're at the Opry resort or in town.
Mjbeard - Gaylord Springs Golf Links New
The Gaylord Springs Golf Course Organization has continuously improved all aspects of the layout (greens, tee boxes, fairways and the cart paths). The management organization is the best in the Nashville, TN area. Once you have played the Links layout you will be back again and again!
Slow!!!
As of receiving this email to write a review we are still on the course. A ranger to keep pace of play would go along way. Otherwise course is nice.
Poor Pro Shop, Challenging Course
The two Gentlemen in the Pro Shop were not friendly. The course is narrow and challenging. Good shots are rewarded
Single Golfer
I am coming in town and had an extra morning so was excited that I could play golf. Guess I am good enough to pay to stay at the hotel for 4 nights but not play golf. Thankfully Hermitage will let me book 10 days out as a single and not have to just walk up. I get not having a bunch of singles fill up a tee sheet but at least take down our names and if others call in hook them up so they can play. Enough business comes through the Opryland resort that there has to be enough singles to make this worthwhile. Guy on the phone was rude when I expressed my displeasure at not being able to book at all with what I paid to stay at the resort. Curtly told me he would get a pro on the phone but they would just say the same th.....transferred to hold too quick to finish his sentence. I hung up as I am not going to be treated like that as nobody should. I travel a lot and play as a single all over but this is the rudest i have been treated in trying to book a tee time.
Sitting on the Fence
First off, I can’t begin to say that the staff at this facility ranks in my top 5 of the friendliest staff’s that I have ever come across. It appears to me that they enjoy working at this facility. The course was in good shape and certainly presented some challenge especially when the winds picked up. I was frustrated with the pace of play on our back 9. The Ranger was not circulating and some groups started slowing down and really needed a push. I will be back when we come back to the area!!!
Great course!
Greens as advertised and super slick! Seemed like Augusta national @ times.!
I’ll be back!
The course played well for early in the season. The golf staff were very pleasant, the bar staff, not so much. Almost like we were putting them out by being there. I would highly recommend the golf experience and will be back..Great greens and challenging holes..
Fabulous
Absolute pleasure to play where the pro’s have. Once the host site for the Bell South Classic the course is as if the pro’s are coming tomorrow. Tight fairways but emmaculate greens. Definitely worth the time and money, which is not over the top
Great course Great Price
A must see in Nashville. I’ve played all over and some very nice tracks. This is a top notch public course in Nashville. Highly recommend.
A must play.
Largest greens ever seen! Exquisitely maintained too! This course is at professional grade and would have you saying WOW on many holes. Want to be challenged? Bring it here.
