Issues with Payment
Confusion at the pro shop on what needed to be paid to the course compared to what I had already paid through the gold now app. The golf course insisted that I had to pay for every one of my golfers, 7 total, event hough I had already paid for 2 golfers on the app to hold the tee times. I finally got tired of arguing, paid the amount they thought was correct and tried to enjoy my morning round of golf that I am pretty sure was overcharged.
Fantastic
Great layout. Course was in great shape. Greens were true and fast. Only complaint is a few of the tee boxes were dirt.
Jammer
First time, great course, enjoyed it, will go back this summer when the lake is up and trees in bloom.
Worth the Drive
Recently taken up golf and have been considering a Bear Trace membership. This course was my choice to begin that experience with as well as the year. Staff put us on course to enjoy the cold morning better than most with an explanation of the course as well as what to expect. This experience will definitely weigh on my decision!
Bear Trace TN surprise
Nicklaus designed course. In great shape, green complexes are classic Jack Nicklaus. Bunkers perfect. Lots of roaming deer. Speed of play was very good on a Sunday morning. Happy we played it and would definitely recommend it.
Still one of the better public courses in the area
Bear Trace at Harrison Bay continues to be one of the better public courses in the Chattanoiga area. Fairly open and wide fairways with a routing that offers a variety of long and short holes. Greens are fair with some movement and a couple are two-tiered but imminently fair. The recent removl of some trees have opened up a few of the holes like the par 4, 9th that presents you with a fair choice of middle of the fairway or take it toward the left edge and over (or through if your lucky) the trees. Also, enjoy the nature and the deer that frequent the course.
All around solid value
It had rained a couple days leading up to when we played so the course was soggy. Maybe they could improve drainage, we just kept moving our shots to areas with thicker grass and less moisture.
Overall we enjoy this course, good level of difficulty for high handicappers but challenging enough for low shooters.
Clubhouse staff is great.! Dan, our starter was a great guy.. we will be back.!
Awesome!
For a public course I give it 5 stars! We played in the winter time and the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were still maintained like summer. It was a busy day and the starter did an excellent job of getting everyone going on time. I will definitely be visiting here again!
BEWARE: Golf Now rate on this course is higher than regular rate price
Be careful using golf now on this course. We were charged more on GN than the courses regular price
They laughed at us in the clubhouse because we used Golf Now. We paid more than the courses regular rate.
We felt like chumps using gn. Yikes
Beautiful course
Very enjoyable afternoon. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Greens had been aerated, but were playable.
A little piece of Heaven in the Woods
This was our 1 st time playing this course and even though it was a little damp and some the fairways were soggy the greens were outstanding! Nothing like playing gold and seeing deer that walk within 50 ft of you.
Beautiful place!
Great Fall Golf
Had a fun round. Challenging course, not too much elevation, but a good layout and great conditions.
Fall in Chattanooga
Played an early round in late October, course was in great shape, the bunkers are in phenomenal condition. Course is really inexpensive by my standards, with a sleeve of ProV-1x balls it was still less than sixty dollars!
I walked the course and there’s really only one hole that had a long walk between green and the next tee. There were a ton of leaves on the ground but, it’s the fall. They also have the woods marked as lateral hazards which helps with pace of play. I got around in three and a half hours even though I had to wait on every tee around the back. Play this course, it’s one of the better ones around.
