Greens are rough right now.....
I like this course and the people who work here.
Just need to work on the greens to enhance a golfers experience.
Poor management of course conditions
The greens were aerated too close to the weekend. An extremely sanded green alters the ability of any player at any level a chance at making a putt.
Let players know...
I’ve played here a lot. Good layout my st if the course is in great shape. BUT when you punch the greens a few days prior, you should let players know in golf now. Putting was almost impossible and took some enjoyment out of the round.
Would not play again in the summer
Greens had not been cut in at least couple of days but the worst thing a course can do in the summer TX heat is not have drinking water on the course for the players. There were a few water coolers located throughout the course but all of them were empty. There was no beverage cart out either on a Sunday. Expected much better hospitality out of a Marriott hotel course
Too slow
There was hardly anybody on the course and it took 5 hours to play. No marshal to keep pace of play up. Greens were in terrible shape. Tee boxes looked like they hadn't been cut in over a week. The only way I would play this course again is if it was under $15 and was prepared to wait 5-10 minutes every shot.
Not bad considering weather
My main complaint is that the tee boxes had somewhat long grass and soft conditions. This led to an inability to tee up a driver to an adequate height causing tee shots to launch lower. Low tee shots and wet conditions makes the course play incredibly long. It’s a good track with a good layout that rewards aggressive lines but punishes you when you don’t pull off the shot.
I would do it again.
North wind and a challenging front nine but and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff all the way around. Pick your shots though as this is a shot makers course.
Basically a Bad Municipal Course
Terrible round of golf, left after 14 holes. There was no ranger, we waited for two groups to tee off before us on almost every hole. I have played a lot of rounds of golf at Champions Circle and I can safely say that I will not be back. It has steadily declined into one of the worst golf courses around. Avoid it at all cost. Go play Tour 18.
Great course but...
Pace of play was horrendous. Went on a Saturday at 10:30. Didn’t finish the round until shortly after 4:00! Insane that they didn’t manage this better.
Excellent course layout, recent rain and windy day made some holes challenging.
Lots of creeks, trees, dog legs, and elevation changes. Greens were in decent shape and rolled true.
2nd round in less than optimal conditions
This is my second time at Champion’s. Both times, the wind has been a little over 20mph and it’s been 40deg or colder. The staff had been extremely nice and accommodating. The course has been in great condition, especially considering the long patches of cold. Some greens are much faster than others, but it makes for a fun round. I can’t wait to go play during the spring to see the course in all of its glory.
My new go to course
Great course with great people. Have played here 4-5 times recently and it's alot of fun, once you figure it out.
Great December round
Sunny brisk day in December, the course was in great shape; tee's overseeded, fairways firm but soft enough to take divot, and greens superb. Cart girl out already and was around all day long. Course keeps improving and is becoming a favorite with our group. Special kudo's to greenskeeper Brad Hines!!!
Only played in the Winter
2nd time at this course. Of the public courses in Dallas/Fort Worth, this is our favorite. We look forward again.
Good course
Enjoyed it. Pace of play was great. Would be back if I can find it for under $50 again.
