I played today with my Father and was frustrated by how short the fairways are mowed. It’s like hitting off concrete. The greens were covered in sand and didn’t putt well at all.
Embarrassing
Picture says it all. What a joke! Cowboys organization should be embarrassed to charge $207 for this…..
Expect more.
First, I am a Cowboys fan,, so am biased to give this course the benefit of the doubt. The people, services, and amenities are second to none.
The course leaves a lot to be desired, sadly. For the price, I don't expect greens in poor conditions, mud in the fairway, or rough cuts. I hope they can improve the condition on this course, because for the price, it deserves it,
VIP experience
Interesting course. Good conditions. Ate all the excellent food we wanted, breakfast and lunch included. The wings are some of the best ever.
Poor Value
I played this course over 5 years ago and I was surprised at the poor conditions and maintenance of the course since that time . The course looks worn and in need of repair including the cart paths . Very disappointing .
Amazing course layout. Terrible tee time organization. Went on a Tuesday in the afternoon and was waiting on the tee box for 20 minutes on average, with a line of about 3-4 carts at each hole. For around $100 the pace of play is the worst I’ve ever experienced.
Nice, slow, condition lacking
I would really like to see them invest if the condition. It’s beat up by the crowds. Need to add dirt next to cart path in many areas. Driving range is chewed up. Could use several days of cart path only :(
Great course
We started at 4:00 pm. The discount is great but couldn’t finish 18 holes due to pace of play before it got dark. Not worth the cost if you can’t play all the holes.
Course in great shape tee to green.
Very fast greens but receptive to approach shots with a lot of breaking putts. White sand in both fairway and green-side bunkers. Started right at tee time and pace of play was okay for weekend.. GPS carts we’re helpful. Cart girl on course with food/beverage station by hole 7. Will definitely play again.
A little disappointing
Looking forward to playing Cowboys, but extremely disappointed in experience.. Course was in ok condition for the most part. Most holes were fun to play, lots of elevation. But the pace of play was horrible, waiting on every shot. And I have never run into so many rude golfers. The group behind us cut in front of us when we stopped for food. Others drove right up on us when we were hitting and even hit into us. The round had numerous distractions. Ate at the restaurant after our round. Horrible service, food took forever and came out incorrect. Not worth the money.
Amazing course: terrible pace
Teed off at 5:00 and was hoping to get a full round in before sunset at 8:30. We finished the first 4 holes (absolutely gorgeous holes, 1-4) in an hour and a half. A HOLE HOUR AND A HALF FOR 4 HOLES. The people in front of us were hackers, and spending over 5 minutes looking for their balls. We tried to jump ahead by skipping a hole, and nothing but the same from the 4 some ahead of them. We waited 10+ minutes on every tee box. The hotdogs at the snack bar(free, which is nice) were absolutely amazing. So many picturesque holes with great bunkers and layout, just a shame that the pace was as bad or worse than a trash muni. If I paid more than 30 dollars, I’d be very upset. A Marshall did come out to ATTEMPT to speed things up but it didn’t work. We barely got through hole 15 and finished in the pitch dark.
Pricey but worth the splurge
As close to Country Club golf as you’ll get but public in this area. Price includes food and non alc bevs. Nice course and usually in good condition. It gets plenty of play however so there are worn bits here and there. I like to play it and enjoy the experience when I have time before and after the round to use the food benefit.
