Thanks
Always a pleasure, Justin and the staff are outstanding and the course always excellent
Pace of Play
Had a group of guys in front of us. Two were beginners. They were playing from the white tees. They should have been playing from the red, maybe the 150 marker. Pro shops need to do a better job in advising people where to play from.
Tough but fair
As a beginner, this course was tough, but if you hit shots where you're supposed to, it is fair. Would love to play here again and try to improve on my score.
Great course-5 hour round?
Need efficient marshals to move those taking forever along or step aside. 5 hours is just way too long and detracts from a great course
Amazing course, but they desperately need a marshall.
First time out and the course is everything it's hyped up to be. Starting with the massive, all-grass range, it's a top notch experience. Pace of play was miserable though, the group in front of us had no idea what they were doing and frequently fell more than a hole off the pace.
Strongly recommend playing there, but tee off early and except a really slow round.
Possibly the toughest course in CenTex
Had a nice 1st round at Wolfdancer, which played quite long and was extra challenging due to ~20 mph winds. I was fortunate to play with someone who had played there before. There are many sand traps protecting small, very sloped greens, and also sand traps dotting the fairways to snare you off the Tee. On many holes, getting a par felt like a birdie at most courses. Shot an 88, which isn’t bad considering the wind & course difficulty. I believe many decent golfers would struggle to break 100 at Wolfdancer.
The course is very well maintained with the exception of some ‘Natural Areas’ that are unmowed and indiscernible from a distance - they hide & will swallow balls. Greens are fast, very sloped, and more undulated than any course I’ve played. You really need to understand the preferred landing areas on approach shots, pitches & chips. Many fairways are quite sloped, causing you to target left or right side to account for roll & gravity. Looking forward to playing there again with less wind & more course recognition!
GOOD Course, Not Great
Very solid track. Some very confusing pin placements...The first several holes are very challenging and the greens are very fast which is why putting pins in the middle of slopes is just kinda mean. Back 9 is a lot more friendly but more of an "executive" style 9 - almost 2 completely different courses. I love it but just not sure its worth $120+ especially given it's remote location.
Tough course
If you want to figure out the state of your game, this place will let you know in a hurry. Tight fairways and smallish fast greens. 1st time on here and it took me a full nine holes to get the greens dialed in. A little over priced for the time of year but it is a resort course. Look around for some specials and it will be more worth the price.
No marshal on course
Pace of play is terrible. Teetime was 1:30, and we made it through hole 15 by sunset. There was no marshal on course, shame cause it’s a nice course.
Will comeback
First time at this course. Will be back
Nice layout and challenging. The GPS system helped immensely.
Typical Arthur Hill design which keeps me guessing on and off the greens.
Great Course and decent pace of play
Played this course in March 2020 and took over 5 hours to play. They do not have a Marshall. Just played it again and managed to finish in 4 hours. Course was in very good condition, challenging and greens in great shape. Would definitely play it again but it is expensive unless you get one of the Golf Now discounts.
Good day to golf
Weather was perfect for a round at this coarse, greens and fairways were groomed properly (no complaints from me on the coarse),greens were groomed nicely and were a little more difficult to play for me because my game is not the greatest, very challenging on the putting end due to changing slopes on the greens (was a good change from the normal coarse I okay though) was a lot of fun to play, only bad thing I have to say is the foursome in front of us need to okay somewhere else ,when you pay for a course like this you don’t want it to take 5 hours to play,(not the courses fault )!!!!other than that it was a good challenging coarse
Great Day of dancing with wolves!
Got the "Hot Deal" Just enough time to get in 18 before dark. Course is tough but awesome. Greens perfect. Great day!
