I would play here again!

I really like the course layout. Staff were very friendly. Towels and ice in the cooler was nice. GPS monitor really helps for those people who’s playing for the first time. Greens were nice enough. Key boxes were torn up, but playable. I’d come back and play again.

Good but…

Very cool course. Pretty area. The staff are fantastic. Greens were very sandy but in otherwise good shape. Fairways in good shape. Tee boxes on the par 3s not so much. This course is on par with some of the nicer munis in the area, but not quite up to the level of say Star Ranch. They really have no business charging as much as they do at the moment, but to their credit I went on a weekday and saw a ton of crew out working on the course conditions. Also had to pay $12 for parking. Even after calling their corporate office and getting several validation codes from the clubhouse. Wouldn’t work. A little annoying. Overall, very cool course. Would’ve been 5 stars if I paid say $70-80. But for $100+ for any given 18, no thank you, not again.

A beautiful, challenging course

Lost Pines is a very unique course and worth the play if you are in the Austin area. The course is challenging but rewarding. You’re gunna need to have the driver on its A game to score well. It’s a beautiful course and the staff is amazing, they are so nice and easy going. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely be taking on the challenge of Lost Pines again. Highly recommend.

Greens are great

Although the greens were patchy some months ago, they are back into great shape, rolling true and at a good resort speed. The new holes on the back nine are fantastic. If there hadn't been a slow two-some in front of us, we would have had better pace of play. Overall an excellent day at a wonderful golf course.

Great conditions

A few months ago, the greens were patchy and not up to snuff. But, when I played this round, they were in great shape, rolling true and medium fast. Some of the bunkers lacked sand, while others were just fine. Overall, the conditions were great. Pace of play was slow because of a couple of slow groups in front of us. If you can get an afternoon rate, it is a phenomenal value. One of my favorites in the Austin area.

Overpriced Given Current Conditions

Layout is fun. Have not played here since the 2022 changes and the new holes that were added are very fun. Was a bit disappointed with the conditions. Some greens have very noticeable dead/grassless spots and 90% of the bunkers I saw were washed out and needed sand. Overall would play here again but would not pay $180 to do so.

Disappointing

My wife and I joined another couple for nine holes this evening. This is known as a premier resort with fantastic golf just outside Austin. We found it to be less than some of the Austin muni’s this day.

We got off to a bad start. The men’s locker room had feces all over the toilet and we couldn’t get waitstaff in a relatively empty restaurant to wait on us.

On the course the bunkers were hard as rocks. All of them. There were shovel tosses of piled sand on the greens. The greens were patchy and dying / dead in spots and were mowed unevenly leaving visible ridges that caused balls to hop. The only bright spot was an air conditioned and clean toilet halfway through the front.

I realize this isn’t the norm for this course and I’m not sure why it’s in such disrepair. At $80 per person we could have had a much better experience at a local muni. I can now say I’ve played Lost Pines, but I don’t think we will be coming back.

Only down side to the course were the greens. They were in pretty rough shape, lots of bald spots. It’s the only complaint but given the price of a round, it’s disappointing.

A good place to play

It's been couple years between rounds and I just like the new layout.. The former Wolfdance course had 4 dull final holes ; just not interesting compared to elevation changes of the previous holes. The 4 holes con't the hilly land relief and this makes the course so much better. With the change, Wolfdance was laid to rest and s better course emerge The Lost Pines G C.

Nice course

First time playing this course. Missing the fairway was tough as the rough was really thick and made finding the ball very difficult. Course layout was really nice and condition of the course was great. Will definitely play again.

The course has a great layout with a lot of elevation changes. The greens were a little bumpy and slow. Overall I enjoyed the course and recommend it to everyone.

It's a great golf course.

Lost Pines is a beautiful golf course that is kept in great resort shape. Even a few days after torrential rains, the golf course was still in great condition, there were nice amenities, and it felt like a private course. I did not need to pay for parking (it was validated), and range balls were free...which makes sense given the price of this round.

The actual test of golf is great. It's a very long course that requires good driving. It's not narrow by any means but it requires precision thanks to doglegs, trees that are not easy to hit over, lots of bunkers, and elevation changes/sloped and undulating fairways and greens. This is also the first course in the area I've encountered that has punishing rough/native areas. The front 9 is harder than the back 9, and I felt lucky to get away with a 94 today.

A nice special occasion course, will definitely come back.
