Hit some balls
Great course! Make sure you are tuned in before starting, first 5 holes are pretty unforgiving. I would recommend calling course to verify tee time. I tried to book a few weeks back and was seeing 2 tee times at the same time. I called the course before booking and they had a tournament starting at that time. Pro shop guy was not a big fan of golfnow.
Good condition, I like this course, greens are perfect
I play this Course one year a go and they make some changes, good manteinence, and great Course
Just rained course was wet.
Cart path only, course was soggy, would like to play under drier conditions.
Thanks Burtonm for the review! We hope you can tee off at Falconhead this spring or summer!
Awesome Hill Country Experience
I played 9 holes in the Wednesday evening golf league and had a blast! This was my first time playing Falconhead and I was impressed with the service and the course. Rex in the golf shop took great care of us. Falconhead's Signature Hole (#8) did not disappoint. The green is built on a limestone ledge, and the hole also has three waterfalls and two ponds.
Course in great condition for August
Good course with some challenging holes. Definitely a step up from the cheaper public courses in Austin
Great course, challenging but fair
This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Austin area, lots of things to do before or after the round. The staff is very friendly, and they have done a great job with green and bunker maintenance.
Hot Deal at Falconhead
first time ever on this track, picked up the tee time on the hot deals, would have gladly spent 20 dollars more now that I've played here.
greens had been aerated about three weeks prior but still putted well, fairways were in terrific shape considering lack of rain, overall a great track that I will come play again.
Great Course
I had the chance to play Monday 7/11/16 and the course was very well maintained and the greens were excellent! I would definitely be playing here again.
Always fun
FalconHead is always a fun course to play. The layout is challenging but fair and good scores are out there. Even though they had just punched the greens they were still playable. You can never go wrong here.
Great Golfing but...
Really enjoyed this course... Layout is great... A great mix of challenging holes and scoring holes... Greens were challenging but fair...
The staff is not so friendly... Starter was super nice but everyone else seemed to not care about customer service... No beverage cart made it's rounds... At the turn we got waters but it was as if we were making the girl mad that we wanted water...
There was a group of 3 ahead of us with a young kid... No big deal but it really slowed the pace... Ahead of that group was a group of 6 kids... Not sure why they let a group of 6 play together... There were two marshals that kept driving by but they never got the pace up... They never even stopped to talk to the guys playing slow...
Last, the course is great... Loved playing it..
I am the F&B mgr. of Falconhead and extend my sincere apologies for any unfriendly service. Could you please tell me what the girl behind the counter looked like and what time you were there.
Enjoyed The Day (after we found the course)
A Nicklaus-designed course in the hills near Lake Travis. Challenging layout. There are several holes that you need to see to figure out (when you're done, you say "I would have played that different if I knew"). They have a 'cheat sheet' available in the pro shop with hints for each course. Some of it was helpful, some not so much. We very much enjoyed the round and would definitely play again (and would probably play better,, having seen the holes). Note - NO DRIVING RANGE. They have some hitting bays with mats and nets, but that's it. They 'share' a driving range with the other course - of course, the driving range is at the other course :-( Also, this is one of two courses at the Hills CC. They are NOT located together. Don't follow instructions to Hills CC. You have to specifically search for Flintrock Falls.
Pricey but good
The course is nice, but there are better courses for the money. It's almost always really packed and the pace of play really suffers because of it. All in all, a nice course if you don't mind slow play.
Challenging
Starter named Bill is welcoming and informative. Practice greens much slower than course. Tough course. GolfNow rates made this a better value.
Nice course
Nice course with a great layout, fast greens and a friendly staff. We were unable to use the range since our tee time was starting in twenty minutes when we arrived since it quite far from downtown. First time playing this course we were paired with a twosome that new the layout well and advised us what clubs to use and where to avoid trouble. I used every club in my bag.
Beautiful Day for Golf
Hit the ball great beautiful layout !
Great Course...
This course was in fantastic condition, and it was a great deal of fun to play....
great hill country course
course was beautiful and green.
Friendly Staff
I locked my key's in my car and wasn't going to make my tee time, they allowed me to use a loaner set of clubs until my spare key was delivered to me to get my clubs on the Turn. Made it very easy and didn't hesitate to lend a helping hand. On top of that the Course is gorgeous, Highly Recommend.
Good Course
Not very inviting upon arriving. Check in was none eventful. Driving range was closed for our 8:30 tee on a Saturday for maintenance. Green had been sanded, check-in didn't mention it. The practice green was also sanded. I had to ask the starter if this was the case on the course. Now for the good stuff. Other than the greens the course, the starter and the cart person were great! My wife said it the most fun she's had golfing in a while. Book early tee times appear to go fast.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are so glad you ended up enjoying your time with us. I apologize for missing the mark with our customer service team and that no one mentioned to you that we had sanded our green. We do have special promotions and offers online via Facebook. Again, thank you for your feedback, we greatly appreciate any and all feedback. We hope that you will visit us again.
Great lay out but Greens way unfair
The course is beautiful design but the Greens way to fast and very difficult.
Why make them this way?
Vaaler greens are tough but fair but these are tough and not fair to any level of golfer.
Will not play again just because the greens
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are so glad you came out and gave us a try. Falconhead was laid out by the experts from the PGA Tour Design Center. The Tour's seal of approval means that we offer you the kind of excitement you would expect to find at a tournament-level course, combined with a chance to succeed no matter what your skill level. We have five sets of tee box to provide you with exactly the kind of round you want to play.
Thank you so much for the five star review! We hope to see you at the course again very soon!
