My second time playing this course and I have really enjoyed it each time. The greens were a bit fast, but hey, it's Texas - Good news - you're on the green. Bad news, you're on the green.... All in all, a great course with an awesome staff. The starters went out of their way to make sure we understood the course conditions and pin positions, which was much appreciated.

This course offers a wide array of shot selection and rewards the long ball. I played in the middle of December and the fairway was still in good condition and the greens help the ball well. I wasn't expecting much for this time of year but the course exceeded my expectation. This course can be brutal if you don't have a good tee to green game but is fun for all levels. It can be a little pricey but I would recommend giving it a shot if your in the area.

Have been wanting to play this course for quite a while. I was not disappointed in the least. We joined up with a couple of youngsters who wanted to play the Gold tees. My son and I are used to playing from the Whites. We ended up playing the Gold and it was a difficult day. Playing from the White or Blue would have been more enjoyable. I'm used to having 150-160 to the greens after my drives, but all day it was more likely 185 to 200. It made for a long day and I got to use a lot of different clubs in the bag. The greens were running at 10 that day and were very challenging because of the size and undulations. There are plenty of traps, both fairway and greenside to steer clear of but they were very well maintained. The 8th hole (their signature hole) was the most challenging for our group. We all missed the green to the right and ended up with 5's or worse. The worse part of the day was the weather. It was a chilly 48 degrees and a bit windy. I will definitely be returning here when it's warmer.

I play this course quite a bit and absolutely love it. It is a challenging course but not overwhelming, the staff is very friendly and the course really well kept. When friends come to town, this will be the first course I'll bring them to.

Great course, interesting designed holes with hilly, tree-lined fairways. Signature Par 3 on front 9 is a great hole to enjoy...make a par and you've made your day. Greens are fast, really fast, accentuating the break on rolling greens. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Checkin was quick. Highly recommend arriving about 30-40 minutes early to spend about 10 minutes on the practice green...it may save you a few strokes.

Falconhead is a wonderful course. Whenever I am in the Austin area, I try to figure out how to sneak in a round at Falconhead.

Put into a foursome and warned about pace of play after the first shot.
A cart in front of our group died and the staff drive back and forth durring our time on the hole and did not offer to wait till we played.
Marshall continued to go by even though we had a good pace and no one behind us.
Frustrated the group and really wasn't justified.

The course is generally great. I used to be a member but have moved. The day we played it was raining off and on all day, but still enjoyable.
The only problem all day was the marshalls. We tee'd off at 1:30 so we knew that we would have to have a good pace to beat darkness. There were a couple of groups of drunken "frat boys" in front of us who ended up playing together. Finally, in an effort to finish, we passed them on 14. There were 5 carts there, with one of them being a marshall, chatting away with them.
I've always thought that marshalls were there to prevent this from happening.
The good news is, we skipped two holes and were able to finish.

I've played Falconhead countless times. Rarely disappoints. Fairways were lovely. Greens smooth and rolling 10.5.

Enjoyed the day. Good condition, some fun holes. I recommend it.

Tee box to very fast greens everything was well maintained. I enjoyed my round and will return to beat my 87.

Nice course in good shape (especially for this time of year). Not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Pace of play was great, no waiting. Friendly clubhouse staff and starter. Paired with a friendly group and had a nice outing!

Enjoyed the round, despite my inconsistent play. Long course, with several challenging holes. Disappointed in the condition of the green on #8, the signature hole.

One of the best public courses in Central Texas. Great layout and tough greens.

My 15 year old son and I played on a Friday morning. The course had aerated greens, but still were in good shape. The starter let us know about the aeration before we started our round and gave us some tips on the course. I will definitely come back to play again.

hadn't been out to falconhead in over a year, but it remains one of the best courses in austin. very tough layout, but rewarding and fair. there are many tough holes (2, 4, 15, 18), but some really fun not so hard ones too (7, 9, 14).

it's a little dry out there, but that's to be expected this time of year. greens are in nice shape and rolling well, but are pretty hard, so allow for your approach shots and chips to roll out a little more than you're used to.

this course is a must play!

Overall course conditions were honestly pretty good. Practice facility is very nice and putting green is large enough to handle many golfers. I have no complaints about the course at all.

My biggest complaint and the reason we quit after 15.holes was due to the incredibly slow pace of play. Since the start of the round we had to wait on every tee shot and approach. The Marshall was very nice and explained that the first 3 holes were very tough which is why the pace was so slow. I wish I could've believed that. There was a group of 4 gentlemen in their 30's that were holding up a three some in front of us, our own group and 2 three somes behind us. The marshall came by a few times to tell us he was doing his best to push that group, he even mentioned that he forced them to skip 10 altogether. At the end of the day we had clocked in 15 holes in about 5 hours and still had a good hour to go. In cases such as these, why not have the pro or someone with power handle this. It got to the point that the 2 three somes behind us became a six-some.

Again my only beef was the terrible pace that I experienced. Will not go back simply because the course marshall wasn't able to handle the situation.

Practice good risk/reward skills and stay in the fairway. Undulating greens and challenging slopes make putting the game.

It's a long but pretty wide open track. They just seem to struggle with keeping the greens
