Nice course
I've played here many times and always enjoy it. With a little more TLC this may someday be a destination course again.
Incredible value!
Course overall in great shape probably due in part to the mass amounts of rain that's deluged us in last couple of months. I will recommend that they do some tree trimming however. Certainly will be strokin' more rounds out there!
pleasant surprise Mostly dry cart path play
with the terrible weather we have been having we were dying to play. We got in two rounds over memorial day weekend and another on the 5th. This course has excellent drainage, we were hit with torrential rain sunday a couple inches in like 20 minutes, it ran right off the fairway, down the drains, and in about 20 minutes was playing well. service has always been good. staff friendly. We were very glad to be playing memorial day as well while some friends were flooded in.
Awesome Course!
Drains well and greens and fairways pretty nice even under wet conditions
Great course for the money
Extremely good value!
Course is well kept. Very green fairways. The rough is a little unkept, but that is fine since I shouldn't be in the rough anyways.
The fairways are narrow for most of the holes.
Good value
Good shape - good challenge
The course was in great shape after the recent rains, and had just been cut. A few of the greens were a bit thin, but otherwise well maintained. The layout is challenging, narrow tree-lined fairways with ample water hazards to navigate. A good test, at a good value. I wonder how it will fair in the heat of summer, and its a bit out of the way - far west end of Lake Conroe.
Confusing Round of Golf
We booked a round for 2 through Golf Now, hadn't played the course since it was called Del Lago but remember it being a nice course. We got there just before tee time and were told that the front 9 was closed because of an auto show on the grounds but we could play the back nine twice if we wanted to. It kind of shocked me because I didn't see any information about that when I booked the round and we drove from Houston to play. The other thing I didn't understand was the cart path only rule, the course was super dry and not that nice to where cart path only rules should apply. If I would have known either of those issues we would have played somewhere else. Overall, the course was a really good design in a nice area. The condition of the course was decent, the fairways were good but had crabgrass growing in a lot of places which made the cart path rule strange. The greens were in good shape but really slow. There was not many people playing (I am assuming because of the auto show) so the pace of play was great. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but a little confusing. I would recommend the course again but would hope that better communication is given next time these conditions apply.
Course was in pristine condition!
Great course. The layout was quite challenging. You need to be precise with all the clubs in your bag. Narrow fairways on many holes with plenty of water and bunkers. Would recommend this course if you want to play a challenging and beautiful course.
Resort golf
First time playing in TX. From what I understand this course has new ownership and bringing course back. I found the course to be challenging with the different holes that required thought of shot decision because of the multiple bunkers or bodies of water on all holes. I would play again.
Great experience
The atmosphere was great everything was on point. The greens were just the way I like not too fast. I plan to play again in the future.
good day
course was in good shape for Feb. greens fairly fast- staff were friendly- will definitely play again.
Fun and challenging
First booked via GolfNow on the new website which I am very slowly warming up to for a great deal of 39 bucks on a Saturday morning with the kind of weather you live for. Course is in very good shape for not yet being truly spring. Greens were fast and putted true. The course can be visually intimidating with what appears to be narrow fairways from the tee boxes so driving the ball accurately will definitely give you better scoring chances. Some holes have fairway cross bunkers that can deceive the eye and water can reach out and catch the stray shot on a number of holes. Pace of p;lay was good with nobody waiting on us and us not waiting on anyone else.
While it is about an hours drive from my home, I will definitely play there again.
Country Club Course
This is a typical Country Club layout type of course. The front 9 is lined with Pines and elevation changes. Being able to work the ball right to left, left to right is essential to score well if you play from the blue or white tees, not so much on from the gold tees. The back 9 is more open and forgiving, with elevation changes. The greens were slick and a little bumpy, but I know they will be better in the spring. Over all tough course if you don't know it. I am sure regulars do well here, 1st time players not so well. This course is a true challenge for all levels.
Great course design and fun to play
This course has great looks from the very level, well taken care of tee boxes. Plenty of bunkers and water to keep you thinking and beautiful trees that will punish you for errant tee shots. Greens were a little slow but ran true and I'm sure in the warmer months will be running fast. Not really any holes right along Lake Conroe but you get to see it close by on a number if holes. I look forward to playing here again soon- especially if I can do for under $30.
Great course and friendly staff
Had a blast, not a bad round either. The staff was remarkable. Nice little driving range with clean range balls. What more can I say.
Great deal
Great ciurse, only thing was no cart person and limited restrooms. Will go back when in town.
La Torretta Golf Course
Booked a great price thru Golf Now. Course was in great condition for the time of year. Fairways are tight with all the trees. Fun course to play. Hope to go back.
Just what you want!
Friendly staff, good range balls and hit from grass, Very good greens and fairways, challenging layout. Play it!
This course exceeded my expectations
I drove a ways to get to the course but I wanted to play a new course so I was willing. I heard a few years back the course was having financial troubles so my expectation weren't extremely high. That all being said I couldn't have been happier with my experience it was challenging but fair and more than a few times I was on the green or had an approach shot and I just had to step back and take in the view.
Challenging
The course is overall in good condition from tee to green, long par 4's and 5"s force you to hit driver off the tee, but tree lined fairways call for straight shots to keep it in play, or you'll end up in tree trouble, although unlike other courses...they keep this one pretty clear of brush, so you can find and play most errand shots, but don't expect a low scoring round. my only complaint would be carts are gas engine, old, loud and slow and we didn't see a cart girl during entire round. mostly a local members course, even though it is open to public. I'll probably won't play it again.
