About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was renovated by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008 and features bayfront holes. Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

Course is in good shape except for the hundreds of palm trees that need to be trimmed

The only reason I gave course condition a good is the sand traps but I understand why they are that way. It won’t keep me from coming back!

The BEST Gulf Coast Course in Texas
Moody Gardens Golf Course in Galveston Texas is by far best on the gulf coast and so worth a visit if you want an enjoyable experience in golf. The course has a great layout, challenging holes, and is well manicured . Wind is often a factor, but this is very nice in a usually steamy hot summer. Pace of play is never an issue with an astute starting guide. I highly recommend this City Course.

Great Course But They Harris’s You
I played the course in June 2018. It was a fun course and in great shape. The only problem I have with it is I was passing through and will not be back that way again. I have been trying to get them to unsubscribe me for over TWO YEARS!!!
This course best value and friendly staff!
First time playing Moody gardens golf and I would highly recommend it! Even though conditions were a bit difficult because of the wind course conditions very good and layout was player friendly. First-time playing seaside course in Galveston but like challenging courses so you need to flight your ball per weather conditions, all in all very good golf course!

Moody gardens weekday golf
Slow play by an old foursome kept speed of play slow and would not allow playing thru.

C’mon, Rake the Traps!
To be fair, greens & fairways were in great shape. However, traps haven’t been raked in months. I realize they don’t want players to rake but there’s no reason the can’t be raked once a day. Some had grass growing in them & many were almost unplayable. This course is too expensive for that. Come on Moody,, you’re better than that!

Beautiful layout, greens and fariways excellent
Everything was great except the bunkers. We should have been told the bunkers were unplayable and had an appropriate discount.

Great Course... Not so great locals
Very nice course. Lots of challenge on back nine. Very windy down here on coast. Played as a single. Ran into 4some on hole 7. They would not let me play through. When asked, they said "We would let you play through but you're not going anywhere" and drove off. Wouldn't have been so bad, but they were terrible. I would have to wait for 6-8 of their shots before I could finally hit. So much for "let faster players play through".
