About Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a large resort and attraction area with a hotel, conference center and 18 holes of golf in the coastal town of Galveston, Texas. It is well known for its three pyramids home to an aquarium and rain forest attractions. It has not only an onsite waterpark but is next to Schlitterbahn as well. There are six dining concepts, as well as a spa and fitness center. It's within easy access to historic downtown Galveston, Pleasure Pier and the beaches. The golf course originally opened in 1989 but was totally redesigned by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy in 2008. This watery layout features scenic views of the gulf, bridges and bayous, and the back nine plays alongside the small Galveston airport. The course is links-inspired with gulf breezes and wall-to-wall paspalum turf. Historic Galveston is less than an hour's drive from downtown Houston, making Moody Gardens a popular day trip destination as well as for weekend vacation getaways.Facts

Great Golf Course
We frequently drive down from Houston to play Moody Gardens. simply the best conditioned public golf course in Texas. Great value and always a pleasure to play.
FANTASTIC! Considering the amount of rain we had received from Imelda, the course was in FANTASTIC conditions with very receptive greens( other golfers really need to fix their divots and should take the time because you will ruin the greens and then people won’t want to return, that cost me three strokes having to put over or around the divot). The bunkers were a wash which is to be expected after that amount of rain.
Take plenty of bug spray cause them skeeters WILL FEAST on ya. They are big and hungry.

GREAT COURSE
Despite the recent storm, course had minimal areas of standing water. Greens were true and fairways were maintained nicely

A well maintained course.
This was my second time to play Moody Gardens. Both trips were fantastic. The greens are well maintained and consistent. I really liked the course having five par 5's and five par 3's. Thanks for the great round of golf!

Nice Course
Played this course with friends and family. Really enjoyed the play and the course! The pro shop staff was awesome and super nice, Marshall was pretty good too. The guy working as the starter was a jerk, watch out for him.

I absolutley love this course. The fairways are large and in perfect condition. The greens had recently been punched when I played but were healing nicely. The course is flat but challenging with lots of water hazards and tall native grass that can be penal.. I would recommend this course to every level of golfer!!!

Excellent round at Moody Gardens
We stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the amenities on Friday. I woke up early and played 18 Saturday morning. We finished around 11 am and joined the family for some fun in Galveston. All in all, it was a great time.

NICE GALVESTON TX RESORT COURSE
Fairways in great shape. Nice and soft. Greens were punched a week earlier but still had a nice roll on the puts.
Friendly staff and nice lunch specials after your round.

Slow play
There was a tournament group just before me, so it made for a slow round.

Great Course
Honestly didn't know what to expect. Pictures can always be deceiving, but the fairways and greens were very well kept. Plenty of water to get you in trouble, which made it challenging, especially on the back 9. The fairways got a little tighter on the back 9. Played a twosome, had a 3 in front of us and single behind us and everyone maintained a good pace. Really enjoyed the experience overall. Ladies at the bar and young gentlemen at the pro-shop were very friendly. Look forward to playing next time I'm down on vacation.
