About Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Community
On the Texas coast, Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Club in Port Aransas features a rare links golf course in the United States. Originally designed by Arnold Palmer, the course was later shorted to a nine-hole course under 2,500 yards and a three-hole short golf course called the "Loop: as part of the resort's commitment to a family-friendly and relaxed lifestyle. The resort is a residential development that uses Turnkey for its vacation rental properties. Homeowners and guests through the resort have access to a concierge, beach and pool access. There are several bars and restaurants onsite highlighted by the Black Marlin. Port Aransas is located south of Houston near Corpus Christi.Facts

Very narrow
The course was in amazing shape. Beautiful fariways with soft lush feel. Greens were very nice and true. Be prepared to lose a few balls unless you are a straight shooter. Short but very challenging and picturesque. Would definitely play again for golf now price.
Amazing course. Bring bug spray!
I've wanted to play this course for several years and finally got around to it. It was amazing. Complimentary balls on the driving range to start, great customer service by absolutely everyone and absolutely beautifully maintained course. 100% recommend. Only negatives were that the mosquitos were the size of vultures and finding the driving range and hole 1 was a bit confusing. Bug spray will fix the first problem and asking any of the friendly staff should fix the latter. Can't wait to make this a staple of my yearly coast trip.
Greens in Excellent Conditions
I had not played here in over 8 years. Course in great condition. Golf shop check-in fast and staff was great answering my questions.
Pace of play can be confusing since you play 9 twice.
Some on 1st and 2 nd 9.
After first time no wait.
Family Playground
Played while staying on property. Pretty fun layout, with hole #5 being a beast and a true championship hole. The problem is this course caters to families, which can often include beginner golfers, which is great, but really bad for pace of play when you have 5-somes and 6-somes (multiple) of families out playing. It's like going Putt Putt on a Saturday night with your family, except that this is on a real golf course. And as great a hole #5 is, it's a disaster for beginners, and completely bottlenecks the course. The family 6-some I saw a couple times could easily spend 30 minutes on this one hole. Follow that up with another really tough hole, but also a great hole, #6, and your round will come to a complete halt. Fairways were great. Bunkers not very well maintained. Greens were very spongy, healthy, but slow. The best part was the driving range. Being a practice junkie, they had some of the best turf I've ever hit off of. I'd love to have this grass to hit balls every day. They have a little practice "loop" of 3 par 3's that is really fun. You could spend hours just playing with you buddies and having a really good time. Overall, I'm glad I played it, but would hesitate to play again simply because we got to #5 tee box and completely got bogged down with groups in front of us. And there was no where to go. I'm not sure there is a remedy, as this is a family destination and besides the pool, the only activity available.
