Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
About Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
Tapatio Springs is a modest-sized resort in the small Hill Country town of Boerne, located north of San Antonio. The 18-hole golf course, formerly 27 holes, underwent an extensive renovation and redesign project at the hands of Tripp Davis in 2015 to create an updated experience for golfers. Off-course amenities at this resort include a brand new clubhouse, home to the La Cascada Table & Bar, a social hub for the resort and local community. Owned by musician George Strait, the property features a singer-songwriter live music series on weekends.Facts

Tapatio Springs
The golf course is undergoing some repair work so 3 temporary greens were in place. Didn't impact our round as the construction crews were out of the way and no trouble Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Clubhouse staff very friendly.
Call before booking on line
Despite the renovations that had gone on earlier this year, I expected this course to be in better condition. What my group (3 of us and early morning tee time), did not expect was there to be major renovations of sand bunkers and pitching areas playing up towards green to be under repair for 11 of 18 holes; even some of the tee boxes were. Pro shop gave us a free round of golf card before we teed off to compensate for what were to experience toward our next visit. We truly found out why were given the free next round. When we got on the course to start playing holes for the most part on the front and back, they were like I shared above. I booked this through golf now but when it is finshed in 3-4 months it will be worth the money.
Terrible
It is under major renovatin. Should have stated this in the booking. Most tee boxes and greens were unplayable. No sand in bunkers. Heavy equipment all over the course
Perfect for my level
Although the course is under renovation most of the greens and fairways are in perfect condition.
I can't wait for another round when the renovation is completed.
Kudos to the guy at the club house who was very friendly and very informative as we check in for our tee time.Thank you and God bless.
THIS COURSE WILL BE GREAT WHEN CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE
I enjoyed playing this course. I played here six years ago and the course was not in real good shape, I am glad to see all the work been done. look forward to playing when totally complete. thanks
One Step Closer to Perfection
The only way I can describe Tapatio is a fine wine, not the $20 bottle, I'm talking the $170 bottle in the glass cabinet. I've played here 4 times over the last 2 years and every single time the course has changed layout in some way. But its better every single time. I'm ecstatic to see the course after this renovation is through in October. We played it Monday and it was in bad shape, Tee boxes were moved, greens were closed, almost all bunkers were under construction. But this is what I will say, the landscaping, and fairways around that construction was out of this world. The quality of the grass they used in the fairways is some of the best I’ve ever seen. The greens that were open were great and extremely challenging. This will be a top 10 place to play in SA if not Texas when they are done. Amazing course everyone, keep it up!!!.
Tapatio
Nice course but still under renovation. 3 temporary greens. And bunkers under repair. When finished should be really nice.
Course under total renovation
It's worth noting that the course is under total renovation. Several hole have makeshift greens and Tees. All the course bunkers are still being redone; it takes a lot of patience and tolerance to play this course. Members may be able to over look the renovations, but I would not play the course again until the overhaul is complete. It is massive.
The Tap comes through, as always.
Always enjoy going out to Tapatio Springs. The course is usually in great shape, even after the droughts of the past few years and the rain during 2015. Tapatio is a great value for what you are asked to pay in green fees. Even though this outing was purchased as a "hot deal" from Golfnow, our group would still pay the regular price and feel like we got more than what we paid for.
Great, course
Will love to play course again, great course, and personal are very friendly
Tapatio Springs
The course and water features were in great shape after all the rain it has gotten this past year. It is closing on July 6 for renovations that are scheduled to last 6 weeks. It should be even nicer when they are completed.
Very Nice Place to Play
A little over priced unless you get a tee time on line. This course has vastly improved over the last year. Fairways and green are now in good condition on their way to becoming great. This course is deceiving and tricky. One must place his or her shots in the right location. It is nestled in the Hill Country and surroundings are beautiful. Staff is excellent and friendly and the club house is top notch. They are adding new amenities and are bringing this gem to a true resort quality course. Over all four stars out of 5.
Good round
Little drive from San Antonio but worth it. Good variety, challnge and conditions
Amazing Views
1st time at Tapitio. My son brought me for a belated Father's Day outing. Plenty of elevation changes, water, and scenery. If you're staying in San Antonio definitely worth the 45 min drive to Boerne .
great course
Sand a little compacted.... biggest issue... if that is an issue... overall... excellent, I will be back
Hill country treasure
Love this course
Challenging but still able to score ok.
Wish the Ridge was still open
Keeps Getting Better
I've been playing Tapatio for several years and it gets better with each visit. The staff is constantly making improvements to the course. On my most recent visit there were a few greens where new grass was planted and a couple bunkers that were under repair, but overall the course was in great shape.
If you want to get away from the city, experience the hill country, and play a round of golf for a reasonable price you can't find a better course than Tapatio.
Under construction
The course is making renovations but is still beautiful. Shot placement is key on a few holes. Lots of doglegs.
Looks and feels like the Texas Hill Country
Enough difficulty to not become complacent but easy enough that you will want to come back. It's like a ride in the park with beautiful Texas style homes surrounding the course. Excellent food and the staff is very friendly. Recent renovation to the driving range/practice is very appealing to the eye. We understand that much more of the resort facilities are to be renovated soon. It is very appealing as is but may just be storybook upon completion. We will visit again!!!!!!
Tapatio Springs
This course is under new ownership as of 6 months ago and you can already see the progress. The fairways are in great shape, the greens are fast and in good shape. The course design is outstanding and the views are spectacular. The staff is very friendly and the service is great.. Booked it on golfnow for $38 @ 12:30 on a Sunday.
Free range balls and gps on carts.
