Golfer Reviews
First time playing Tapatio
Overall, great experience playing here however, don’t hit your ball in the bunkers! If I was a member, I’d be pretty upset about the quality of the Sand. We saw multiple areas where weeds were growing out of the sand. Also I realize that this is a resort course, but the greens seemed to be quite slow but maybe thats what the membership wants? Other than that the layout was good, restaurant after was nice and the course is visually beautiful. We’ll be back but we will be taking GUR drops out of 75% of the bunkers. Or maybe just play better and not end up in the bunkers in the first place.
Great day at a great course!
Booked an online special on GN which made it a good value. Check in was smooth, range balls included. Course was in great shape, nice track with great views. Pace of play was good, however, it was a Monday. Definitely recommend, and hope to come back some time.
Great round
Had a good round. Pace of play very good. Course Iin great shape
Price was right
Great course and layout. The greens had been recently aerated and sanded, so putts were tough to measure speeds. Add in the recent rains and it felt like you had to swing twice normal to get it there. That’s golf though. Aside from that and one hole under repair for hog damage, it was in good shape. Can’t complain about the course design and surrounding views. Will definitely go back!
This course has good potential
I think the course could be really good. The layout was very good. I’ve never played where we two holes shared the same tee box. The issue i had was not tee or fairways, it was the poorly maintained greens. They were very slow and bumpy, it appears they have been taken over by poa anna. These little green plants affect the ball rolling and never know what to expect or where to hit it.
A little beat up
We didn’t know we were playing right behind a corporate scramble that was slow and bought out most of the beer. Course is pretty and tough. A little beat up but it is early March. Just needs a little love. I got a great deal on here but would have been upset if I paid full price.
Sweet course
It is winter, so the fairways were a bit brown, but overall a very fun course. A bit challenging for me on some of the holes, but pick up the ball and move on.
Great Day Golfing
We haven’t played this course since before the fire in 2017. Swore I would never go back because the staff were the rudest I have ever experienced, repeatedly!
We got a decent price at $62 from GolfNow so we decided to try it again. The facilities were beautiful from the rebuild after the fire. The brief interaction with the young man behind the counter at check-in was satisfactory, not impressive.
The carts were nice, and had gps. Because there were only 2 tee times listed on the GN app, we figured we’d be paired up with others. However, no one was. We got off to the wrong start as we teed off from correct tee box, but wrong direction! The starter came out and steered us back on course. The exchange was friendly and actually laughable!
The course was in good condition for winter. The pace of play was excellent, we finished in about 3 hours.
Not Impressed
From the get go this was a disappointing experience. The staff in the pro shop could have cared
Less than was a paying customer. It took them over 20 minutes to get my rental clubs.
Once on the course they were removing tree stumps on three holes and had wild boar damage on two holes and they had redone sod on two holes. This would not have mattered except that the rate charged did not match the course’s lack of upkeep.
Spend your time and money elsewhere.
Nice Course
The course is nice and good condition. The restaurant and snack/bar area service leaves a lot to be desired but if just play golf it is a great course with some very challenging holes.
Nice hill country course
Played in late Dec. Not overseeded. Course was in Good shape except where the wild boars have been rooting around. Couple holes on the back 9 had it pretty bad.
I thought the two 9 were like two different golf courses. Front nine was pretty wide open with wide corridors and straight forward strategy. I thought the back nine was much tougher, with narrow corridors, lots of trees crowding the fairways and hindering approach angles if you aren’t in the right spot. It having played the course before I struggled on the back nine trying to figure out where to place the drives and what were the places to miss. I thought the last two par fives on the back were a little goofy especially 18 with just a mine field of trees seemingly on every line.
Overall I enjoyed the course, thought it was a good value and the greens putted true.
