Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
About Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
Tapatio Springs is a modest-sized resort in the small Hill Country town of Boerne, located north of San Antonio. The 18-hole golf course, formerly 27 holes, underwent an extensive renovation and redesign project at the hands of Tripp Davis in 2015 to create an updated experience for golfers. Off-course amenities at this resort include a brand new clubhouse, home to the La Cascada Table & Bar, a social hub for the resort and local community. Owned by musician George Strait, the property features a singer-songwriter live music series on weekends.Facts

Hill Country Beauty
Love this course. I have been playing it for years now. The course has improved related to maintenance and always offers a challenge. Can't wait for the next round at Tapatio.
Great conditions with a challenging course.
Course was in great condition and it was a challenging course. I am looking forward to playing the course again now that I am familiar with the course.
Fairways Need Help
Green are great! Fairways need attention- water fertilizer weed abatement and fire ant treatment.
Beautiful scenary. Would like to see stay and play through Golf Now
What a Beauty
It has been about ten years since I last visited Tapatio. I had forgotten just how beautiful this place is. The course design is much more traditional that many courses I play these days...I love it!!! You are very quickly impressed the the natural beauty surrounding you. It just whispers comfort. This complex just looks like the golf holes have always been there and not shoe horned into a parcel of land. I have read some reviews talking about poor conditions due to lack of maintenance, but we found it to be in excellent condition. Like all of us, they just need a little more rain to fill up there lakes and ponds. Fairways were lush, greens rolled true, (just needed to mow them to add some speed). All in all, I'll be back for sure!!!!
Great Golf Course Great Value with Golfnow
Great Golf Course Great Value with Golfnow. Greens are on great condition.
This course was pretty fun.
Really a short course with a few difficult spots. If you drive the ball 315+ like I do be prepared to hit a few greens in one if playing from the second tees. There was only one problem I had. One was if you don't have a gps rangefinder good luck on the distance guesses. There aren't any makings of distance with the exception of two really short cedar stumps that are painted. I wish the water hazords would've had more water in them, but I understand how south texas is. All in all it was fun and I woukd play there again.
Thoroughly enjoyed the course and the staff. They were excellent
From the moment we arrived, as visiitors from Saskatchewan, we were made to feel welcome and appreciated for coming.
This is one of the nicest courses we have played here in Texas.
A must play with scenic views.
Very enjoyable for the first time playing the course. A must visit if not to play golf, to enjoy the views and scenery. Very spacious and well decorated pro shop, restaurant, outdoor patio, you name it. Every section looked awesome! My son and I were extremely pleased and everything exceeded my expectations. Great price for a great venue.
I hope that George uses a wad of his Pesos to really refurbish these 3 courses because the overall layout of these courses is spectacular.
The overall layout of these courses provide some excellent views and the elevation changes provide a opportunity to test a golfer's shot making ability. Many shots require fairly long carries over some pretty gnarly areas. Fun courses to play but bring a lot of balls if you are a 10+ handicap. I wish that they would have overseeded the fairways for winter/spring play.
Great setting and views
This course has a great and beautiful setting. Everything about my experience was great, with the only negative being that the course could use a little better maintainence--which is to say that everything was in good condition, but it is the only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review. If the course were green and lush, then it would truly be a hidden gem. Regardless, the course is fun, scenic, and a good balance of challenging yet forgiving though most of the holes are on the shorter-than-average side.
Whew what a day!
We really enjoyed playing this course, yet again! We teed off early in the morning, after finishing we had lunch at the fantastic restaurant, then thought heck lets play another 18, guess what they only charged us $16 per person for the replay! 36 holes and great lunch, just needed a massage and it would have been a perfect day!
Short, but pretty. Clubhouse renovation is very nice. The course still needs work.
I have played this course for over 20 years. The clubhouse renovations are great. Now George and his partner need to spend some money on the golf course. Appears that the sand traps were redone. Now aerate and water those fairways.
Value fo the money
Green are in great shape. Fairways and bunkers need help. Course looks beautiful
Very Dry
I was disappointed to see the fairways so dry. We played the Ridge and Lakes.
I would recommend this course when the fairways are in better shape.
Much better shape than when I played it a few years back.
Played behind a fivesome but still at a decent pace.
Its was a great day of golf.
The greens were in very good shape and the course was very fun to play. I will return. The weather was also a factor in the great day of golf!!!! Must be traditional for Hill country golf....but with over 45 years of playing golf, this was the first time I played with jeans...Nice Touch!!!!
A beautiful course
We got our tee times on Golfnow and it was a bargin for this course. It was mid feb when we played and the course is just greening up. It must be spectacular in the summer time. The course was very challenging for me and my wife but very enjoyable. The surronding houses make for great viewing between shots. The pace of play was a little over 4 hours so that was fine. We did not play the ridge 9. I heard that is even more challenging. We will be back for sure.
Try the Ridges
Went twice in a week to Tapatio and ended up playing all 27 holes. Almost all of the course is in great shape with the Ridges 9 giving the best challenge and views. I'll be going back any time golfnow has a firesale.
Challenging and Beautiful
This course was fun and challenging. The narrow fairways require careful shot selection when approaching the greens, as there are many dogleg holes. Every hole offers a beautiful view, which makes the difficult play a little less frustrating. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a really nice course to play that isn't too expensive.
Nice course...great potential
27 holes of fun. Valley (open), Lakes (water on 7 of 9) and Ridge (our favorite). Ridge had lots of blind shots, narrow landing areas, lots of elevation changes. Target golf at it's best. On #6 we had to drive up inside 80 yards just to see the top of the flagstick down below. Definite risk reward opportunities throughout the 9 holes.
We hadn't played here for well over 15 years and we were astonished at the changes. New clubhouse, restaurant, bar and proshop.
Course itself was typical for winter in South Texas. Fairways a little thin, bunkers need work (not much sand depth), greens a little rough, but puttable. Greens on the Ridge 9 were in much better shape.
It's obvious the new ownership group has already invested a LOT of money in the facilities. No reason to believe they won't continue to pump money into the golf course to protect their entire investment to date.
Overall, we see potential for a GREAT course and golf experience. We highly recommend the Ridge 9 for a golf experience not usually found in the South Texas area.
We WILL play here again... REAL SOON and often.
