Situated above the Connecticut River, Lake Morey Resort can successfully host families, conferences, weddings and golfers. A four-season destination with views to spare, the resort entertains with an 18-hole golf course, water sports, biking and hiking in the summer and pond hockey, ice skating and cross-country skiing in winter. A historic inn is home to 130 guestrooms and suites, while lakeside cottages provide more space and privacy. This golf course is like many others in the area, nestled in A valley between two large hills. The front of the property, before you cross the road, is rather Mundane with flat holes that weave back and forth in an unexciting parkland style layout. However once you cross the road the layout takes a dramatic boost in interesting holes. It is across the road when you experience drastic elevation changes including largely elevated greens and tee boxes. The greens were deceptively fast however not unplayable. The fairways were nice with the exception of an occasional dead spot here and there but nothing that really came into play, plus they were marked off with ground under repair. The staff is extremely friendly and is a big part of the reason I will be returning. Looking forward to playing this course again soon.
