this course is a great summer course. winters - forget it.
the course is very challanging, with a great layout. but, in the fall and winter when it is wet, this course gets very slippery. most of the terrain is clay. when it is wet, lookout.
Spectacular layout
This was really a beautiful course. The greens had been plugged and sanded about a week and a half ago but it really did not take away from the experience at all. I have played other courses when they were pretty new but Salish Cliffs is really an advanced 2 year old. I do not stray away from my home course much because of time and money but when I do I will definitely come back here.
Nice course, but expensive
Not sure it is worth the cost. We went there on Golfnow rewards or would have never paid their fees. The condition is wonderful, the weather was perfect when we were there but the pace was slow. The marshall at the beginning of the second 9 said it was the busiest day they had ever had...I believe it. We had to wait a long time at each hole. But the course itself is interesting, relatively difficult and long. I don't know if they allow walkers, but it would be a pretty difficult walk.
great course and a challegne on most every hole.
Carts had GPS which provided golfer with information for each hole and this was must helpful as this was my first at this golf course.
One of the best in State
This golf course is great. Beautiful mountain views. Well maintained, friendly, well run golf course. We love playing there. Enjoyable at any level of play. The course has been just aerated and sanded and it still is enjoyable to play.
A must try on any golfers list!
Nice setting, pretty course, loved the range
Go and play the course, you won't regret it. Nice layout and interesting holes. I expect it's generally in great condition but it was raining pretty good off and on and golfers seemed to be seeking the cover of the cart rather than fixing divots and ball marks. The general course maintenance was great, my day was just colored by playing lousy in the rain. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Course was nice. Was to be plugged two days later so some of the greens needed attention. Ball marks that werent being repaired
Most of staff was cordial. It started raining and had hoped to get off earlier if it was quiet staff held us back until our tee time. Last time on the t sheet with openings ahead of us but they would not accommodate Otherwise very good experience..
Fun, challenging with great service
Greens still need time to mature but overall a beautiful course in great condition.
One of the best in Washington
Salish Cliffs is a wonderful course. We played after a few days of rain so the entire course was saturated. The fairways looked great (from the box) but were so saturated every shot either plugged or had zero roll out. Massive divots and trenches were all over the place, players were having a difficult time replacing divots or filling in with sand. The better play was to miss the fairways and play the first cut which was more firm. Greens were nice, lots of divots, but that could have been due to the rain. Quite a few lazy golfers play this course. Being how the course is new, the root structure of the grass needs to develop. In a few years this will be in the top 3 of Washington. Still needs to grow in but totally worth coming down and playing.
perfectly maintained, satisfyingly challenging course
When you see any rates on sale for this course, play it. It is definitely one of the top 3 courses in WA state. cart GPS, perfect fairways and greens, pristine bunkers well placed to make you think, great service from beginning to end. I'm very happy and will try and play again despite the 90 minute drive from seattle.
Spectacular, spectacular
This is the most spectacular course I've played in years. A real treat! The only drawback is that some others were ahead of us and enjoying playing as many strokes as we did so play was a little slow.
Course has great layouts
Course has great layout. If you play late, you're have to deal with the wind. The course is still young especially the greens. The greens were slow compare to the practice green. Few more years, the course should be in perfect playing condition. Overall, I enjoyed the play.
Great course, well maintained, beautiful scenery
This is the best course I have played on in Washington. I wish I was a bit closer but will play many times again. LOve it!!
A gorgeous and challenging golf course!
My second time playing here, it got the best of me again, but that just makes me want to come back even more. They were doing a little maintenance on the tee blocks and fairways, but it was still in great shape. The terrain that they had available for this course has made this a very fun and interesting layout, that while tough it is still fair. In my group I had three friends that had not played it before, a 1 handicap, a 3 handicap and a 9 handicap. They could not quit complimenting the conditions and layout, the 9 handicap shot an amazing 1 under 35 on the front, before reality came back and he shot a 48 on the back. We’ll be back again soon!
If you enjoyed Circling Raven, you'll love this course.
Not a house in site - lots of elevation - greens in great condition - an all around great golf experience.
Pristine conditions, too many rules
Course and practice facility are in absolutely amazing condition. However there are a couple big complaints. Fairly expensive and snoody service considering being in Shelton and the typical clientele at Little Creek Casino, they don't mesh well. Course has too many rules and just things in general that are not about enjoying the game of golf. You are forced to play with a cart because each hole is a mile apart and the carts are extremely slow, won't go out to the parking lot, they literally shut off making you look like a fool. I read the sign not to go out to the parking lot but I got near it because there a billion signs but not one that is clear on where the first tee is. The cart computers constantly reminds you of all the rules. I think it's the 4th hole that doesn't have any signs where to go either, throwing off pace of play which is very slow. The fescue rough is a bit excessive. You can hit shots that aren't that far off the fairway and should be playable but their lost. I'm a low single digit handicap and lost 2 sleeves. The course is impressive, pristine conditions and nice club house but just not hitting the mark with it's operations, I hope they improve with time.
Excellent course designed.
Play last weekend, got a very good hot deal price from golfnow can't beat that, first time play there very challenge design set up golf course, this course can play longer when windy, lot of elevation change, excellent green condition so bring your A game, we have lot of fun playing and plan to go back soon.
Greens were a little slower than expected
Overall a very nice facility. Excellent practice facility and friendly staff,I will be coming back for sure.
Good challenge course
This course is challenging. The cart provides GPS to help each hole. Greens are huge, tiers and tricky but true reading. Each hole is different and won't be boring. Tee box, fairway are in good quality. Straight tee shot is important. Good short game is necessary around the green. It is almost no way to find your own lost ball in the rough in many holes. It is a course for winners see what they want , and losers see what they don't want. My handicap is 24 and I enjoy this course.
One of Washingtons best courses
Tucked in the hills of an Indian Reservation. This golf course is truly a gem with rolling hills and challenging fairways, the greens are pristine and the over all course is well maintained. The staff is very professional, the marshal meets you on the first green and explains the do's and don't of the course . This is the way all courses should be operated. KUDO'S
Just wanted to let you know that we put in over 2 miles of additional drainage and look forward to being drier this winter than ever before. New courses often take 3-5+ years of additional work to get irrigation and drainage everywhere it needs. Additionally, our bent grass fairways are atypical to the PNW and play softer than many other surfaces. Thanks for your comments and we hope to welcome you back soon!
