Skamania Lodge

About Skamania Lodge
The Skamania Lodge in the scenic Columbia River Gorge has taken a new approach to golf with the complete redesign of its original course. The new 9-hole short course, The Gorge 9, and 18-hole putting course, The Little Eagle 18, debut in 2021 to make playing the game more casual and quicker for all players. The resort itself offers renovated guestrooms, suites with fireplaces and Treehouses perched high off the ground for the kid in everyone. Onsite activities take advantage of the natural surroundings with ziplining, an aerial park, axe throwing and outdoor basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. Within the gorge, go hiking, kayaking, fishing, tour six breweries or try wine tasting at 35 different wineries. Indoors, there’s a spa, pool, fitness center and game room.Facts

October play
Tight but FUN course. May have lost a few balls. Nice course with beautiful views.
Great track
Love the course, very tight fairways. Greens were recently sanded and didn't put that great. Pro shop manager is very nice.
Beautiful Views
This is a challenging course due to the narrow fairways. Put the driver away and all is good.
Beautiful views
Excellent pace of play. The course is nestled in the forest. Beautiful views of the Columbia river, mountains and woods. The course is short with lots of elevation changes. Must hit the ball straight to avoid the brush and blackberries. Enjoyed my day.
Great course Great Price
Enjoyed the course. Played in 4 hours on a Saturday. Good pace. Bring lots of balls!
I love Eagle Creek
This is an unsung golf course. I thiink sokwone has to play it to appreciate it. It's so worth the drive and it's not pretentious, yet has all the features to challenge and intrigue me to keep coming back.
Beautiful place to play
Stopped over for a Sunday night and played 18 Monday morning. The price is cheap for what you get when you play here. Definitely worth it. The pro shop staff is excellent. Tight course with lots of trees and brush on the sides, but that lends to the feeling of being the only one out there.
Hit it STRAIGHT!
At the risk of piling on -- I fully agree with the majority of reviews here. You MUST hit it straight, and there is little reward for the long hitter. The course measures less than 5400 yards from the white tees, with several par 4's in the 300 yard range.
This was my second time at this course; I hit driver twice (once OB, the other with little advantage), and kept it in play with my 5 wood. For the 20+ handicapper, the rule is "Course Management" to ensure an enjoyable round.
For a resort course, I was surprised by the lack of resort amenities during our round -- no marshals or hosts, no beverage cart, a mediocre 19th hole snack bar. I would have expected better.
Highlight of the day: making a birdie on the Par 5 18th hole. Hit my 5 wood three times and finished with a 10 foot putt!
You have to hit it straight
This is a gorgeous course in the Columbia River Gorge. It's part of an equally gorgeous resort that I have stayed at w/o playing golf. It's a tight mountain course. The ball is either in the fairway or lost...down a cliff or in a berry patch. And the layout tries to sucker you into hitting the wrong club. Do not be ashamed to hit an iron off the tee. One hole, we hit 8 irons on a par 4. We found the fairway and had a 9 iron to the green, what's wrong with that?! The course is in immaculate condition and a real pleasure to play. You just have to play within your game.
Disappointing
Having played Skamania a few years ago, I was enthused to play on this beautiful track once again. However, extremely slow play with timid marshaling, bird house cabin construction on the back nine, frequent non-golfers walking on the cart paths, and a general feeling of management coping with the facility rather than enhancing it, all left me a bit empty. Perhaps management has improvement plans for the future, until then the golf experience will continue to disappoint.
Played many times at this course. Always a challenge, great layout. Bring extra balls you are going to need them. The staff there are the best.
Fantastic Surroundings
Come for the views and enjoy the golf. Not long, but narrow fairways and some challenging greens make for a nice test of your skills. You won't forget the day you played at Skamania.
beautiful course
This is a beautiful course in the trees. The course was in great condition, pace was great. Guy is the pro and was very helpful. There are some tight fairways here so hit straight.
Will definitely play here again.
Narrow and Steep
Course in good shape. Beautiful. Quite narrow.
Skamania Golf Course
One of my favorite courses close to Portland, Oregon.
Friendly service along with good facilities. Have the wife spend a day at the spa while you have fun on the course.
JHH - what time did you tee off? I played yesterday also, at 9:40, just before a mini tournament. I suspect you went off after them. We essentially had the course to ourselves and played it in 4 hours.
