Sunny Ludlow

Perfect day for golf. Very scenic course. #4 is the #1 handicap hole as a par 5. Not long, but play it as a 3 shot approach because of creek in front of elevated green. Par is like a birdie on this hole. Had to pay attention to the 8-10 knot breeze that is influenced by the trees. Incredible location.

Course in great shape, greens rolled nice, added a cart for $13. Guys in restaurant we're not real friendly and quick selections were not available.

Since when do we let more than a foursome in 2 carts.

Played in a threesome and paid for 18 holes. There was a lot of debris on the greens that made putting difficult. On the 7th, 8th and 9th holes there was a 5 some of young people in 2 carts scrambling all over the course, very slow. They apparently quit on the 9th as we moved to the second 9 they were nowhere in sight. Teed off on the 10th and the rain started. We backtracked to the clubhouse for a bite to eat and decided to give it up for the day.

With the opportunity "play it"

We played the day before the club hosted the peninsula association 3-day ladies open and the course was in excellent condition-staff friendly- and we greatly enjoyed being able to play.

Beautiful Course

Was a good round with plenty of challenges. Greens seemed extra firm and slow for the round, finally got the hang of it on 17/18. Looking forward to coming back.

pt ludlow

Very nice layout and in pretty good condition. A high handicapper should bring plenty of balls for if you hit it off the fairway the rough is tall and lush. My only complaint is all facilities were closed when I finished at 5:10 and I could have used a beer.

One Suggestion

We wish that there would be information on whether the price quoted includes a cart or not before you book the tee time. And how much. I find $16 per person for a cart a little extreme….but maybe I am out of touch with reality.

Port Ludlow is still great

I always loved playing Port Ludlow, even though I respect and give Gold Mountain the #1 spot for Kitsap County. It is very well kept up, Tide and Timber are both great courses, and you get the best of both worlds because Tide is a scenic course but has some houses on numerous holes. Timber is what the name says it is, back in the forest where you can see bear poo and animals such as Foxes, Racoons, Bob Cats, etc.. It is still a very wonderful golf course and it deserves credit!

Memorable Course

Port Ludlow is a delightful if not challenging course. We found the greens to be in excellent shape. The pace of play on Father's Day morning was under 4 hours. I like the fact that each hole is distinctive. I did notice that some of the cart paths need resurfacing.
I hope to play there again very soon.

I like this course

I really enjoy playing at Port Ludlow, course is in nice shape great layout. Difficult holes unless you play the right angles then it is a little easier to score.

Only downside is the ferry traffic getting back to the mainland.

We were very excited spotting a bear while we were on the driving range, that made the day even better.

Port Ludlow never dissapoints

A great course in very good condition. It is worth the price just for the beautiful views. Love this place. Play in the afternoon you'll have the place to yourself. Do your best not to hit the deer that roam around at their leisure

Perfect golf day

Saturday is why we put up with NW winters - cuz the summers are so AWESOME! Our twosome paired up with another twosome. Pace of play was perfect....we were not chasing anyone nor were we being chased. Greens were in perfect condition and the traps and fairways in great shape. The rough could have benefited from a trim - but otherwise we had a great time on a perfect day.

20 Years too long

Hadn't played Port Ludlow in 20 years, wasn't that enamored last time. The trees got bigger, the fairways got tighter, and I enjoyed the course a lot. A lot of doglegs that require hitting the ball the right distance, long off the tee isn't necessarily your friend on most holes. Accuracy off the tee will make the course fairly easy, but miss a fairway and you'll be lucky to make double bogey. Large greens with a fair amount of undulation. I was surprised how dry the course was considering the rainfall we've had, I was expecting some mushy areas and some plugged balls, I got bounce and roll instead. I'll go back a lot sooner.

Nice course

Course was in really good shape . Reasonably priced beats paying $60 to play a Six hour round at the Seattle municipals.
