About Cabins at Pine Haven

Not your traditional golf resort, the Cabins at Pinehaven feature 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom cabins, treehouses and a four-bedroom lodge and conference facility. Each treehouse is equipped with its own private hot tub, front and back deck and grill. Perhaps the biggest draw for golfers is the two-bedroom, golf-themed cabin called "The 19th Green". It sleeps 4-6 guests with a private hot tub. Pinehaven is within 5 miles of several accessible courses, including the nine-hole Black Knight Golf Club (3.1 miles), Grandview Country Club (4.5 miles) and the 54-hole Glade Springs Resort (3.7 miles). The Greenbrier is an hour away.

Former Private Course

This 9 hole course used to be all private and Is now public. Course is on a hilly property and has some unique built up greens. Only negative is greens were softened in the 80s by a Ferdinand Garbin.

Worth a play if in the area.

Long time favorite course!

Been playing here off and on for 30 years. Great getting to come back home and play an old favorite. Always windy here and the course is all you want from the tips. From the white tees it is a fun and fairly easy course. Always in great shape, grass is just better here than anywhere else. 15 is one of the coolest holes anywhere. Only suggestion is to trim the trees on 12 and 18 tee boxes. They definitely are encroaching on the tee shots from the blues.

Some great views

Big, wide front nine. The back nine is more challenging. Hole #10 is the longest on the course. More water on the back nine. Overall the greens will hold a ball and are fast. Finally they updated their carts. Making the experience even better.

Memorable 15th Par 3

The course was in good condition for comparison of courses in the area. Most courses in the area are are average to good condition. Only a handful in the state are excellent. The course lost a lot of trees due to a storm which is unfortunate but the crews were working hard to clean up. West Virginia has had a challenging 2016 in regards to weather. This course is near Beckley, WV which is pretty much a town on top of the mountains as is this course. With that sais you can expect the natural beauty that West Virginia offers. The layout was pretty good for the area. The highlight for me was the the 15th Par 3 in which you are overlooking some rock cliffs up top and hit onto a green quite a ways down. A very fun hole and very scenic. Your cart is going to need a good set of brakes leaving the tee box to the downhill path leading to the green. It was however unfortunate that they do not accept the WVGA vip card. I do look forward to revisiting this course.

Grip it and rip it

A fun course with good greens. Alot of room to hit driver. A good second course to go play after you play at glade springs. Will not beat you up like others in area. I believe it's family owned. I like it.
