True Gem
This course is always in great condition and always a blast to play. They’ve always had fluffy green and now they’re shorter and more challenging. You can’t beat the price and season passes are something I’m truly interested in. Staff is friendly and social. Best range in the area, when it’s open.. non-availability of the range is the only complaint I have. They close it too early and it’s closed a lot of the time.
Incredible Course
What a spectacular setting for this amazing layout! We had so much fun on a busy Father’s Day yet still had a 4 hour round. Be sure to eat at the Lodge after your game and be sure to try the cream of crab soup. Delicious! (a splash of sherry is my only suggestion) Cacapon State Park Resort should be a golf destination for everyone. We’re committed to a visit again soon with several golfing friends that includes an overnight at the lodge.
Nice course and layout.
This was a beautiful course and.we will be back. Our only criticism is that the price of beverages is different depending on whether you purchase it in the snack bar ($1) more, or from the beverage cart on the course. Wanted to get from the cart before our round but they loaded up and took off. Purchased at the turn since they did not come around at all during front 9. They showed up on hole 10 just after we tee'd off. It was too late.
Amazing Course
The layout and structure of this course mixed with the quality and care of its fairways/greens made it worth every penny. Best course I’ve ever played at this price. Not in West Virginia often but would play again in a heartbeat if so
Basic course with no amenities
Course was in decent condition aside from some of the traps needing overhauled with more sand. Mud and rock chunks were in many of the back 9 traps near greens. Not very challenging, no cart beverage service, club house snack stand/station was close. Good course for a beginner or someone looking to get a fast round in but being in a more remote location not worth the drive if your looking for a resort type course to plan a trip around.
Course was in excellent condition, especially for April. Play was rather slow but it was early season on a holiday weekend. Overall staff was very friendly, although marshall should remember that it's a public course in a state park and not a private country club or PGA event. Would highly recommend course, especially in Fall when leaves are turning.
Really great course!
Very challenging course with spectacular Mountain views. Greens were just plugged but was reflected in the rate. Super friendly people, introducing themselves by name and making us feel more than welcome there.
Great West Virginia Experience
Nestled in a scenic mountain valley. Well maintained and great layout. Challenging due to lots of sand bunkers but only one water hazard (naturally I lost my only ball of the round there). If you want an authentic WV golf experience, this is the right place to go!
Great Course!
Really nice course in really good shape with a very friendly staff
