Reviews
Why???
Why in the world would management resort ito booking twosomes and foursomes and exclude us single golfers? Seems like a step back when they are trying to improve and establish this once-nice Course! C’mon man!!!
Course is in sad shape
It just needs some loving. It’s a nice track but it is not being taken care of
We appreciate your feedback and apologize if our track didn't meet your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
They’ve turned it around!
Management has turned this place completely around. As someone who swore this track off, the greens are in tip top shape, the fairways mown and widened, and overall the entire course has improved.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review, moses1221. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us. Please visit again soon. Thanks for choosing Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Mountainview!
Good value for the money.
Good value. The rough and greens are in bad shape. Probably tough to maintain with so many trees.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience caused by the condition of the rough and greens.
Great Course
Overall, I was impressed with this course. I don't have any significant complaints and I walked away having had a lot of fun. I like to read reviews -especially when it is not a nearby course (this wasn't near to me -I was travelling). Some reviews were of people complaining about some brown spots/dead grass areas on the green. I did notice that on some of the greens. However, that didn't bother me at all. The brown spots were typically far from the hole and didn't matter so much. To me it was like part of the challenge (like having to putt/chip over a little bit of rough). So I didn't see that as a big deal. It looked as if they were working to fix those spots. I didn't think the spots took much away from the nice look of the course. Perhaps a bit more water hazards (I know I should be careful what I wish for) would be nice. There were lots of sand traps, which I liked. But not too many to make it too difficult or too annoying. The layout was great. Nice variety and well designed. Great scenery. The golf carts had touch screens and a GPS to give distance to the green. The carts also had small coolers attached. The people that worked there all seemed nice. I would like to play here again and would certainly recommend it.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review, skyhawk623. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us. Please visit again soon. Thanks for choosing Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Lakeview!
Enjoyable with issues
Fun course, but the cart paths are in horrible shape. They make you want to ride along in the grass the whole time.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the poor condition of our cart paths and understand how this can affect your experience. We appreciate your feedback and will work on improving this aspect of our course.

Lake view WV
The greens are in poor condition and players don’t fix ball marks.
Divots is fairway’s are not fixed or replaced.
Little or no sand in traps.
View of the lake on 4 holes at the most.
Restrooms at main building are in shambles. No soap to wash hands and no paper towels.
No practice range, only putting green.
Even with GolfNow discount it’s not worth the money.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your visit. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to make improvements in the future.
Improved but needs some work
Heard from a friend that the course was in better shape. Decided to give it another try and it’s still in poor condition. Tee boxes need redone badly, bunkers were in poor condition, but greens were in great shape. However, several of them have digger bee nest in the cup and digging holes on the green. Mike was super nice and we got a great deal on GolfNow! However, I won’t be returning. All Lakeview properties are in terrible shape. Very sad for locals because we don’t have many options in town.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide feedback about our golf course. We apologize if the course conditions did not meet your expectations, particularly the tee boxes and bunkers. We appreciate your compliments about our greens and Mike's excellent customer service. We value your support and will consider your comments as we work to improve our facilities.

Greens in great shape!
I have played this course many times over the years and this was the best condition I've seen it in a long time. Greens were in great shape, medium speed. Fairways were being watered on almost every hole but I'd rather see that than letting them burn out like previous years. Bunkers still unplayable but loving the effort being put in!
Danman3424, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Mountainview. We hope to see you again soon!
Nice course
Nice course! Fairways were a little dried out, but there had been little rain for some time. Greens were in pretty good condition. Sand traps were clean. Fun course to play!

Hello,We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Mountainview.
What a shame
It’s an absolute travesty what a dump this place has turned into. Course, facilities, everything, is an absolute dump. Trash grass (In places), dirt bunkers, paths you need an off road vehicle for… it’s bad. The only saving grace is the presence of a few courteous staff members. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
We apologize for the negative experience you had with our course and facilities. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve our service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Pretty good golf course
The golf course is pretty good especially for the price. The only knock on it is that they don’t have a range.
u358913518, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa - Mountainview. We hope to see you again soon!
Sad what it’s become
This course and mountainview used to be nice, but the owners simply must not care anymore. Lakeview used to be one of the nicest courses in the state but now it’s average and over priced. Greens are baked out and dead on most holes, fairways aren’t cut well, and the tee boxes are dirt. Go play mountaineer or paradise if you’re in town. They’re cheaper and in better shape
We apologize for any disappointment you experienced during your visit to our course. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continuously strive to provide a better experience for our customers. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
