Course not playable
A lot of rain has hit the area lately BUT I’ve played two courses that aren’t near the caliber of Stonewall and they had the course looking a lot better. Rough and fairways are not playable and for 67 bucks on a weekday afternoon made the experience ever worse. Very upset at spending money on this round and I hope they recover the course because some places look hopeless
Dave’s
Course layout is top notch though. Only problem was cart path only and I found it difficult to “guess “ where to stop to look for my ball since cart paths were above or below the fairways. Greens are small so playing a second time will make it better to play best angle, etc . Will definitely play again.
Solid course
Great place. Great staff. Good conditions. Tee boxes could used some work. Bad crab grass on some front 9 approaches and fringes from last year seems to be under control.
Nice Course
Course was in good shape. Has some water issues on fairways. Some crab grass popping up. Tee boxes were a little rough. Greens, rough, and bunkers were in good shape. Layout is great. Staff was great. Overall a great course, especially if you don’t pay paying full price.
Great course
Love the layout. Only poor rating is for cart paths. Lots of potholes. Love the course!!
Beautiful course
Overall I was very pleased with my experience. The course was very busy and for the most part you keep moving. As can be expected they are working on the course in some locations and the bunker require a lot of work. This is a beautiful golf course keep up the good work.
got a 1:50 hot deal so decided to give this course a try, even though 2 hour drive. when got there found out there was a college tournament going on and the last 4 college golfers went off at 1:30. we had a 2 foursomes between us and the last college group, by the 3rd hole we had 3-5 groups either waiting on tee box or 3 on box and 2 groups in fairway. EXTREMELY slow day, I know it is late in year but fairways were burnt up in many places and greens spotted bad by folks not fixing divots. fairways were also extremely torn up by the college players and I was suprised how bad they were about replacing divots in fairway, it was litterally littered with grass divots laying everywhere. greens trampled badly but this was due to tournament traffic. I would play again if I knew I wouldn't have to follow tournament, we finished last hole little after 7:30, my last 90 yard pitch to the green I couldn"t even see the ball flying, just hit and listen for it to land, long SLOW day.
Don’t play if it’s wet.
Third time playing the course. The course layout and views are great. We played after 2 days of rain and there wasn’t a dry fairway on the course, it does not drain well at all. We lost several balls on drives that plugged in the fairway and disappeared. not a great cart path only course. Trying to walk the soaked fairways was very tiring. The couple who were playing with us quit after 9 holes because they were wore out. The greens were very good and the staff was friendly. The course is fun to play when dry. Being a resort course they allow some puzzling practices, we encountered a couple who were just married riding around on a golf cart disturbing play and putting themselves in harms way. We also got behind a group of 6 on the previous time here which really slowed the pace of play. For the price they are charging, they should have better control of what takes place on the course.
It’s just a great course.
I really enjoy this course, I’m a beginner so it’s a challenge and not impossible to par,. I think what a great place to golf., the resort is so beautiful, and I always see deer.
Absolutely Beautiful Course
One of the most stunning courses I have ever played. Beautiful lake and Mountain View’s abound, not to mention the gorgeous fairways and greens that just meld themselves into the natural scenery. A few elevated tees and steep approaches really challenge your club selection ability. When I played the greens were really fast and challenging. I am already planning my next trip to come back and play this course.
Very challenging
Cart path only made for a difficult time.
So many, too many treks up and down major hills to get to the ball.
Just grueling.
We started on the back, so finishing on 9,
But 9 is nowhere near the clubhouse.
Had a LONG cart path ride to get back.
I was told after the experience that the tee sheet gets trimmed when players learn its cart path only. We understand why !
