Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
About Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a sprawling 1,300-acre, AAA Four Diamond property, home to 355 rooms and 29 new villas. It's a four-season destination with the Mountain Top ski and snowboard facility and the 225-room Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, an indoor-outdoor waterpark. Sandwiched between Milwaukee and Chicago, Grand Geneva invites city slickers to enjoy the laid-back lake life for a while. It started out as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club, part of Hugh Hefner’s empire. That chapter closed in 1981. Eventually, the property rebranded as a luxury golf resort in 1994 with fine dining and conference facilities for corporate clients. The Highlands and The Brute roll over hills and water hazards, creating distinct theaters for challenging and memorable golf. The WELL Spa + Salon, located in a separate fitness building, offers more than 65 treatments and services.Facts

Taking on the Brute
Completed 18 holes in 4 hrs on a Sunday afternoon!
Amazing views on every hole and if you are on the fairway- no bugs, but I learned quickly don’t waste your time looking for your ball in the wooded areas
Look forward to playing this amazing coarse again soon!
Icevski’s
Really enjoyed the round. Super friendly staff great course and pace of play was around 4h on a Sunday!
We are coming back very soon to play again.
Slow pace
Great course. But a 5 hour round was disappointing. Marshall needs to do a better job
Great condition and fun layout
Played after 3pm so had a great rate. Pace of play was good, friendly staff and nice amenities. Course is in great condition. Oh, keep your approach shots below the pin :D
Only complaint is the need for drop zone on 17. It's a forced carry over water unless you're hitting a wedge off the tee. If you rinse one, there is no proper drop zone.
You won’t find much better
What a great golf course. The layout is fantastic with Hills,Curves,Trees,Water and Sand. The fairways are real nice and the Greens run true. One of the top 3 courses I have ever played. I will definitely play here again several times. The staff is friendly and the carts have GPS with ball and club washer
Top of the line place
Fantastic! Challenging and dramatic.
Great condition, excellent routing, large and re greens. Bunkers could use a little TLC, this did not detract from the course. Truly enjoyable.
Can't go wrong, worth the drive
This course is fantastic, the staff is friendly and the conditions were impeccable. It is worth the drive if you have to make it.
Great course, great conditions.
Friendly staff. Terrific course. Challenging is an understatement. Treat yourself to this Brute...it's amazing!!
This course if a “ brute”
Great golf challenge: tilted fairways, hidden greens, uphill lies, sloping putts, it gives you everything you want in a brutish golf course. Fun to play, tough to score. Enjoy!
Tee it forward on The Brute
I played The Brute years ago and got, well, brutalized! About 7-8 years wiser, I moved up a box to the golds and had a fantastic and fun day. A lot of the par 5s played very short (too short), so I'm thinking the course staff should consider a combo tee to balance things out.
Some holes are downright terrifying from the white (championship) tees, notably the ninth and 18th, both squeezed by water. More water hazards lurk elsewhere. I found the stream rolling through the first fairway. My playing partner rinsed one on the 9th, which has water on either side of the fairway off the tee. If you can play The Brute without losing the ball, and break 90, you've had quite the day.
A lovable mutt of a golf course
The Highlands is like the lovable mutt you adopt at the Humane Society. It's not a pure bred, but it's still adored by all. It's a hybrid course with a little bit of Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus and Bobby Weed all sprinkled into the rolling hills north of Chicago. Some golfers like it better than its more famous sister course, The Brute.
Because there is no signature look or trait, it's got a little bit of everything - bunkers, elevated tees, elevated greens, a short 4 (10th), etc. You'll never be bored.
Great time on Highlanda
Cart path only on most holes because of weather. Course in great condition. We'll be back.
Thanks!!!
Grand Geneva
Challenging course. Great layout. GPS on carts. Friendly staff
Definitely will play here again soon
Great course!
Nothing to complain about here. Course was in very good shape, except we had cart path only due to the rains the previous night. Staff was super friendly. We'll be back!
If only they could have turned the 30mph winds off....
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be great during your game. Thank you for playing Highlands at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. We hope to see you again soon.
