Highlands at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

About
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa boasts two championship golf courses. The Brute Course is a formidable test while the Highlands Course presents a more player-friendly layout though it still has plenty of challenges in store. Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye teamed up to design the Highlands. It is a traditional links-layout that is tumbles across glacier-carved hills and valleys. It perfectly mimics the feel of courses of the British Isles especially on the undulating greens that are flanked with bunkers. The course is playable for all skill levels though low handicappers looking for a challenge might want to tackle the Brute. The resort has garnered a popular following amongst both locals and visitors. Conde Nast Traveler ranked it in the top ten northern US golf resorts and that is just one of the many accolades Grand Geneva Resort & Spa has received.

Course is on beautiful wooded land and next to the ski hills.
Giving this recent experience a fair rating, but under normal conditions would be excellent.
The only negative comment was that the first 3 holes were under fairway renovation and were really unplayable. While paying the $85 rate for 18 holes, there was no information about this condition. If known, would have opted for another day at this course.
This place sucks compared to Geneva National
This place sucks. Here’s why:
Chicago d-bag coked out bachelors partys everywhere.
Non stop yelling and screaming hooting and hollering by the Chicago d-bags.
Bar at the course is awful, way too small and closed at 6 on a Friday.
There is a refreshment station after 6 & 10. Unfortunately this closes by 4 PM on a busy Friday. That was actually a relief after the $18 single transfusions. Expect to see the cart girl twice max during your round.
Tee boxes and greens suck. The coke head Chicago scramble parties rip both of them up and they obviously don’t fix ball marks. I’m
As advertised.
It is exactly as advertised. A few of the holes were testers but overall it was all laid out in front of you.
Better than I remember
Played here about 15 years ago and liked it. After this latest round I loved it. The entire experience is much improved. The course was lush… nice fairways, semi-tough rough and pretty good greens. The new practice area is first rate and the staff is top notch. The routing, elevation changes and impressive vistas made for a very good day of golf. Would definitely play again.
Very fun course
A very fun layout with a good mixed of elevation and distance.
Rain out
We were rained out. Course was closed from 6am to 10am due to constant rain.
Course in good shape
Golf course was in very good shape pace of play was real good
Sam
Very difficult layout, greens very slow, course meanders around and it never feels fluid. Conditions were below average, greens were slow, most greens were elevated and short shots were penalized severely, won’t visit there again.
