Excellent course in great condition.
Course is in the country and a little difficult to find but well worth the search!
Course is in excellent condition with fast greens. Waited for a group to make the turn before teeing off. Pace was great as we never had to wait nor did anyone come behind us. Great challenging links layout .
A hidden gem
Have played this course in the past - fun layout but not the best conditions - so I was really surprised by this visit. The condition of the course was amazing. the fairways were pristine, the greens were perfect - and fun - the rough was well defined.. Really enjoy the layout - We love links courses - most courses that call themselves links are not really - links courses need to play fast, and often reward play along the ground, not through the air. The only thing that could make this course even more fun, would be if they let the fairways dry out a bit an get the course to play faster. Those of you who have played a true links course know what I mean - that is the most fun you can have on a course. If this course were located near a city, it would have more notoriety. For now, it is a really fun course to play, and a great value. In other settings, green fees for a course like this would likely be over $100. Will definitely be back. And yes, they do need a new clubhouse!
Not much more than a practice round for The National.
Fun Course for Cheap
First time playing the course, got a Groupon for $80, 18 holes with carts for 4 people. With that price my expectations were low, however the National course exceeded my expectations by miles. The course was in fantastic condition, greens were rolling pure and were difficult to read, it took our 4-some 9 holes to finally get a feel. The waste areas and hazards were in good position and offered a unique experience in comparison to 95% of parkland courses in Wisconsin where if you miss the fairway you are in the woods. The par 5’s were very fun, they were reachable in 2 but with risk, most greens were protected by bunkers or water. The layout was fun and pace of play was great. It’s a cool course that’s different from most Wisconsin courses I would HIGHLY recommend checking this course out especially with the Groupon deal, you can’t beat the price and you will be pleasantly surprised with thw high quality course and conditions. This course would be 5x more fun to play the second time around because there are many nuances that you just can’t see or don’t know about the first time around.
Cheap buddy's trip place
Again this place provides cheap golf, cheap rooms, and pretty decently priced meals. THe White to Red course is a good one. White has a great opening risk reward par 4 and back to back par 5s that provide a challenge. Also #6 is a cool par 3 cut into the woods. The Red is back and forth then turns it on at number 3 then 6,7,8 ,9 are all pretty fun ending holes. Great place to get a way and play tons of crazy types of golf.
