About
Alpine Valley Resort in Elkhorn sprawls across a scenic landscape provided by the Kettle Moraine area of southern Wisconsin. In the winter, Alpine Valley is one of the state's largest ski resorts but during the summer months, the focus shifts to the resort's three nine-hole golf courses: Summit, Meadows, and Sugar Creek. The nines can be played individually or as 18-hole combinations. Each one has a unique character and a different set of challenges. The Summit/Meadows combination is routed through wooded hills that demand accurate shot placement. The Meadow nine is the longest of all three nines, but the Summit feels longer than the length listed on the scorecard thanks to a variety of elevation changes. The back nine is more open, but water takes the place of mature trees as the imminent threat.
