About
Located at the northern tip of Key Largo, Ocean Reef Club offers two championship courses that offer some of the finest golf in the keys. Originally opened in the 1950s as a nine-hole layout, Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin collaborated to design The Hammock and the Dolphin in 1969. Both golf courses both sprawl across a lush tropical landscape accented with trees and native vegetation. The Hammock is the shorter of the two courses but many say it is more scenic. Part of the golf course wanders through mangrove and tropical hardwood hammock that is home to many rare and endangered species of plants. The course offers striking scenery with lush green fairways contrasted with colorful tropical vegetation. The scenic wetlands play no small role in the difficulty of the course. Water hazards come into play on 14 holes.
