Halfway between the historic center of Montpellier and a very picturesque hinterland, the 27-hole Golf Resort Montpellier Fontcaude is typical of the Montpellier region's countryside. The international 18-hole course, Par 72, measuring 6,104 meters, was designed by Chris Pittman, a New Zealand architect, in 1991. The layout at Hotel Golf Fontcaude is varied, with notable elevation changes and doglegs winding through a landscape of pine trees and garrigues (Mediterranean scrubland). The 9-hole "Executive" course at Hotel Golf Fontcaude, Par 29, measures 1,290 meters.
