Vulcan Golf and Country Club
About
Vulcan Golf & Country Club sits on the outskirts of the town. The layout sprawls across gently rolling terrain accented with stands of mature trees. The course measures to just over 6,300 yards from the back tees. It's gentle enough for beginners but also great for more advanced players who are looking for a casual round that can be played in less than four hours. The golf course starts with a gentle front nine with water only coming into play twice. Don't be lulled into a sense of comfort though, the course becomes progressively more difficult, culminating with the signature 18th hole. Water appears again on six holes on Vulcan's back nine, including on the final par-3 hole. Water borders the entire left side and there are also a slew of bunkers protecting the large green.

Vulcan
This course has never let me down. Conditions are always great n the staff and members are super friendly.
Course is in good shape
Price is a little high, but course is in very good condition. Greens are average speed but consistent.
A hidden Gem
Barb and the Staff are excellent.
Nice people playing the course as well.
Foursome in front of us saw that we were
Only a threesome.
Front 9 took 2 hours
Back 9 took 1 hour 20 minutes.
Everyone is very friendly when we
Go to Vulcan
Course is in great shape
Prices have gone up this year, not as good a deal as the past. Unfortunate, so we do not golf here near as much as before. Course is in great shape; greens are nice a fast.
Never made the full 18
Between the weather (really high winds) and the slow play, we quit after 12 holes. Could handle one or the other, but standing in the strong wind waiting at every tee was too much.
Greens very slow
Fairways are in pretty good condition considering this is the start of the year. Greens are crazy slow. Had a 4some three groups in front of us that was holding up 5 groups, would have been of benefit to have someone hurry them up. Had to wait at each tee box but not for a long time.
Open Fairways, Relaxed Atmosphere
Played Vulcan Golf Course on a hot sunny day and really enjoyed it. The course has a nice layout with fairly open fairways but still lots of trees to give it some character. Conditions were good and the cart made it an easy, comfortable round in the heat.
There was a tournament just before our tee time, and the staff looked a little overwhelmed trying to keep things running smoothly, but they were still friendly and doing their best.
Overall, a fun course and worth the visit.
Course is in good shape
Fairways are in good condition, greens on the front nine are in good shape also. They aerated the back nine greens a week or two ago and they have not yet filled in, so putting on the back nine is a bit of an adventure.
