About
Opened in 1945, Picture Butte Golf Club has since become one of southern Alberta's most popular golfing destinations. The club has hosted several tournaments over the years, including the Canadian Senior Match Play Championship in 2006. The golf course has a scenic location atop a coulee just north of Lethbridge, providing golfers with views of the surrounding hillsides from nearly every hole. The 27-hole course is divided into three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Homestead/Harvest golf course is the shortest of the three combinations, but it also has the most water. The par-4 fifth is the toughest water hole on the front nine. It wraps around a massive lake but that is just preparation from the formidable water hazards that you'll face on the back nine.
