The name is a play on its location in the valley of the Dogpound Creek. The course has a challenging design that utilized the natural features of the terrain. The layout flows along the gently rolling hills and incorporates the meandering creek that crosses the length of the golf course and the lakes and ponds that are sprinkled throughout. Tooth of the Dogpound Creek Golf Club begins with some challenging holes, the tricky part mainly being the small greens.
