It's in Bermuda
Playing in Bermuda helps but the course was in great shape and although some holes were tight for this 18 handicapper the views were wonderful, the course layout was nice and with nine courses on little Bermuda it was not crowded. Also with rain on our scheduled date they were very accommodative for play the next day. I would play it again
Player on business
This course was in great shape and somewhat challenging with various hills. I would not recommend walking it although one of my co-players did.
Good course for average players, beginners
Belmont is a course of moderate difficulty, fairly short and tight off of many tees; but still a much better option in Bermuda for 18+ handicappers who shouldn't be playing Mid-Ocean or Port Royal. We paid $90 for 18, including cart, not bad but not great value either. Nice view of the harbour on 17 tee. Staff is superb.
Belmont Hills
Very hilly, good conditions, difficult for a first time player. Back nine is more open.
Pace of play started off well but then...!!!
When I teed off @ 8:50 no one was in front of me. Did run into several very slow twosomes who kindly let me play thru. But upon reaching the 10th it all came to a screaming halt. It appears that resulting from many people waiting to tee off on the front 9 the course staff sent numerous foursomes off the back and this then resulted in waiting at several points on each of the last nine holes. Poor form--very poor form indeed by the staff. I have been to Bermuda seven times and I will never play here again.
BERMUDA GOLF 5/8/14
TEMPTING HOLES, DOWNHILL TEE SHOTS MAKE YOU THINK " GO FOR IT ". DEFINATELY GOLFER FRIENDLY. NICE SIZE GREENS WITH GOOD SPEED. VERY SCENIC VIEWS .WILL HAVE TO PLAY IT AGAIN. STAFF WAS AMAZING. MADE YOU FEEL LIKE A LOCAL. VERY DOWN TO EARTH .
Bit dull in poor condition
Bermuda was very dry when we played a round and the course was in poor condition. The staff were very friendly - so we were happy to use it as a practice round - but would not recommend otherwise!
Not my cup off tee ...
If I new that condition of the course was this poor ,I would probably never consider to play this course.
Found out after words that materials that was use to create this course was very hard like concrete, and that would explane hard and bouncy kick when the ball would land and it almost impassible to judge the bounce . If only greens were better, but...
Need to know course, but there is no info on it...
Value for the money - Definitely the right words
My friend and I played Belmont Hills Golf & Country Club on short notice. Had to rent ALL. No problem.
Nice easy atmosphere combined with a somewhat short course in good shape with big challenging but fair greens. Prepare Your wedges.
One thing though; Driving range facilities are poor.
If I come back to Bermuda one day, I will try this course Again.
Great Course
The course is excellent and I plan to play there again soon. We played through rain and still enjoyed ourselves.
Joined a Boxing Day Locals Tournament for fun
Arrived early morning of Boxing Day to find a locals tournament about to start. No problems given the unbelievable GolfNow discounted price we'd paid. Joined in the Shotgun start and had a great time. Challenging narrow fairways and fun greens offset by somewhat muddy bunkers signal good bones but dodgy upkeep.
Tight Bermuda Layout
I've been down to Bermuda the last few years to play fall golf. This was my third time playing Belmont. It is a very tight course with a slope of 133 from the blues. My brother and I like playing it as it has interesting holes with undulating greens. This year, however, we felt the level of maintenance had slipped a bit. Holes hadn't been moved for a while and the greens didn't seem to roll true.
maintainence issues
Traps needed sand, greens were rough, they could learn a few things about addressing people when arriving for golf and afterwards, no offer to clean clubs after round and it seemed that they did not care whether you were there or not.In the pro shop attendant was great.
Three great holes
Overall I would say this course was very nice to play. It would have been a let down if I paid the full price to play. With a hot deal price below $50.00 I would say make sure you play. The course was in nice shape. I was hoping for more holes that gave ocean views.
Hilly course
Played Mid September, course was in decent shape, pace of play excellent. Course is short, there are a lot of wedge shots, although the greens are small and tiered so they can be tricky. Sandwich at halfway was made to order and tasty.
Challenging course, Wide open in the afternoon
Attendant we met was very friendly. Booked the $55 special through GolfNow for a 1PM tee time. Arrived at 11:30 AM and the course allowed us to go out right away. Make sure that course does not charge you again if reservation was pre-paid through GolfNow as the cashier in pro shop did not check first. Course was in good shape. Somewhat short course (tees were up), but no forgiveness as out-of-bounds seemed to be on every hole.
Needs maintenance, still fun though
The fairways are showing the lack of care while the greens are still watered. Great run on hard, dry fairways but need to pay attention. My other issue was the starter. We had a time while the couple we got paired with did not. He told us he couldn't get us out for an hour even though I had a Golf Now tee time in 20 minutes. So he had us play 11-18, then 10, and finally 1-9. It was also very much a locals course the Saturday we played. They had preference and dominated the bar after the round. So play during the week if you can and accept lesser conditions for a good price by Bermuda standards.
Course needs urgent remedial work
Since the last time I played this track in March, it has gone downhill rapidly. The club is in receivership and the bank who effectively own it now have turned off the tap (metaphorically and quite literally!). Only the greens are now watered and even then they are aerated, so have few consistent rolls. With Bermuda's hot summer now upon us, the fairways are straw coloured and rock hard, which makes for a frustrating round of golf. I am glad we had a greatly reduced GolfNow green fee, but I am afraid that I would advise anyone thinking of playing here to check if it has a new owner first who has started to invest in the course's upkeep before wasting the money. It can be a good course again, but not until this limited maintenance policy ends.
Well designed beautiful course
Visually beautiful, scenic golf course. 90 degree cart rule was very helpful, as it was quite warm. Not a long course, but being accurate is a plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit, and overall a very pleasant experience.
Enjoyble course
A nice course in decent shape, narrow challenging fairways. The staff were helpful and friendly. Small snack shop was open for coffee and a sandwich. Main dining room was closed until 7pm. The 19th hole bar was also closed for the day. Pretty surroundings, overall enjoyable.
